I purchased one of these. totally love it. I only use the small size prong collars, anything else is just too heavy. And then i have the sliding problem.
and this buckle is much safer then the "Quick release" that is known to release exactly when you don't want it to.

Yes she uses good materials and the construction is excellent. Plus for women with small hands or people who are arthritic,this is a very easy design to use. The buckle is all metal, the movement is smooth and i think the cost was $30 plus shipping.
And i got it in less then a week. but i also live in the same state.

3.5 prongs are WAY too big for a 18-20 inch neck. In one of your replies you said you started with 9 prongs and removed 5 ?? Leaving 4 ? You need a 2.5 mm link prong collar. The buckle modification makes it easy to take on and off. Smaller prongs make for a more effective correction not a more severe one

The best solution to the problem is to have someone with Experience help you with the fit...It's hard to help someone over the internet...But...

I will say one thing...I Would NEVER use the "Quick Release" type Prong Collar...They're a problem waiting to happen and it could cause someone to get injured...

I think too many people use the wrong size Prong Collar for training...I think they use Too BIG of a collar (I'm talking about the size of the Collar NOT how big it is around the neck...) So many people think that because they have a BIG Dog that they have to use the Biggest/Largest Prong Collar on the market...For my GSD's I use the Medium size most of the time and I have also been known to use the Small for Ob...
They each can offer a different feel for the dog...When used properly...

I said in a previous post that  I found a solution ;and for detail it came from the very helpful lady from leash by design. I thank everyone for sharing their knowledge and experience.

Maybe you would like to be as nice as the members who tried to help you and tell us what you did to fix your problem There have been over 4600 people interested in this topic so you know that others are looking for help they would like to know as well perhaps.

After discussing with the lady who owns the place , she explained to me that the " trick" was really to have control over the dog's head, and the best vantage pint from which to do it is slightly under the ear line; she explained that if the prong collar slipped to low down the neck then the dog regains control of his/her head , and the corrections are less effective. I thought about it considering my days on college campus, when a retired race horse bolted with me aboard, and ran across a soccer field. I was able to regain control of the horse by tightening the rein on a horizontal level just behind his ear. When even the rein grew slack and the horses head was " free " , he tossed it back and forth and it felt really scary.So I kind of bought in to the idea of controlling the animals head. She recommended that to get the best possible fit I should try a medium but if the dog's neck hair is not very thick, I may get a more precise fit with a small.I took the small with some extra links, and I was able to adjust it snug on the dogs neck with no slippage. This took care of the problem which was slipping due to loose fit and the links being too long to allow for a precise adjustment. She said that this is a very common problem with people trying to fit prong collar on dogs.
