I've been using Kyolic liquid garlic (http://www.kyolic.com/product/category/kyolic-liquid/), successfully, for about 9 years. 1/4 tsp. in the morning meal, 1/4 tsp. in the evening meal. No flea problems at all - however, it does not seem to work against ticks. This year I've been using doTERRA Terra Shield with great success (http://www.amazon.com/doTERRA-TerraShield-15-ml/dp/B004O291IM). I mix about 15 drops with a carrier oil in a spray bottle and spray the dogs before we take off into the woods. So far, it's worked great.

Another breeder is using it on his land and has two litters and 5 dogs and no fleas...
Noticed 2 fleas on Hexi and 1 on Scarlet and squirrels and varmits come into our back yard at night...so
Gonna spray asap..\
AND take some home to the farm.

Started using organic Essential Oils for me and my dogs. My mom was a big skeptic until I rubbed a drop of Lavender oil on the tip of one ear on each of her dogs. Within 15-20 minutes, they were calm and snoozing despite the thunderstorm. Worked on mine as well. I am using a blend of oils to keep mine flea free and so far it is working. If any of you have an idea for heartworm prevention let me know, thanks all

I was using Sentry Natural Defense, which is basically essential oils. It didn't help at all, although using their spray has kept ticks off on training days. Advantage works great, but I'm sick of the cost. I brought in a new dog who came with a Scalibur collar and wow, it really works. I just ordered a few collars to try on my girls.

I take it back about Sentry not working ... last year Sentry worked great for us. I was so happy to ind a ntraul prouct that worked. However, they changed the formula and this year it's been an epic fail.

I wonder if my sensitive tummy girl could take that garlic stuff? She seems to have an allergic dermatitis to the mad about organics I've been using. :-(

If you like Capstar you will love Comfortis! Same product but instead of only working for 24 hours Comfortis works for 30 days. It starts killing fleas in 20 minutes and keeps killing them as soon as they contact your pet. So dogs with flea bite allergies get great relief from those pest. It does norhing for ticks, so you need something else if your also having ticks. And the only negative reaction i've seen is if given on an empty stomach some dogs will puke it. So always give with food.
I used it on my dogs when i've had fleas and the results are amzing.
