That is why I said I would leave that up to others to try to explain and my link to older breedings, that are all within the GSL, but it gave a little detail as to why one dog was used over another, the impirtance of the female in the mix, etc., etc.,
Those dogs all produced some of the top dogs as we know them today.
The color barrier is beginning to be broken, as many (some) showline breeders, American and German, have finally woke up and smelled the coffee.
The direvtion the showline dogs were heading was, pathetic in my opinion, and I also belueve that breeding for more intense color played a role in that.
THAT, is MY opinion, and I do feel anyone that is starting out breeding German Shepherds, esp for the showring, needs to be extra cautious about maintaining the original intent of the breed.
I mean really, have you not seen the conformation on some of those dogs that have been sold to uunsuspecting person abroad. It was a shame.

thanks Markobytes for touching the other core parts of discussion and added your point of view in it and i am agreed on the color statment of yours .Yes you are on the topic track as what ever the breeding is it ultimately ends on the result of conformation or structure of the dog . By either mean we all have the purpose for the best outcome in breed .
Now a days Pigment matter alot and gives an edge as well on dull color dog - Now topic driven on other side so its better that some seprately "post" on German Shepherd Current Pigmentation . So we get the different views on it as well.
Thanks All of you again
