I am delighted to learn who else is doing good business. I would like to add a few other breeders that I know personally and respect, and refer business to when I cannot meet a customers needs: US: Roberta and Gerry Katz- vom Kammer (NY) Dean and Carla Calderon- vom Waldestraum (OK) Molly Graf- vom Eichenluft (PA) Steve & Connie Miller- Haus Miller (WI) Marlene Wiggins- Alabama K9 (home of awesome Zidane!) Rita & Adrian Ledda- vom Haus Ledda (TX and CA) Randy Tyson & David Witmer- vom Tyson (CA) Marcy Blank- vom Landscaft (IL) Deutschland: Horst Sizmann- Zwinger vom Arolser Holz Christian Lang- Zuchtstadt zum Kolbenguss Robert Lang- Zuchtstadt vom Arkanum There are many more. If I have left you out, please don't be upset. Just send me a kick-me-in-the-ass wake-up call and refer me to the nearest Alheimer's treatment facility! SS

IN RESPONSE TO SINCITYGSD I absolutely agree with you that a person needs to MULTIPLE input from different people over a decent period of time to get the full picture about a breeder. Just because one person has a positive experience with a breeder doesn't mean the next person won't get screwed. People should always look at information in a critical manner and get information from varied sources before they make a choice. Not everyone has ulterior motives, but many do... I had a good experience from this breeder, based one ONE transaction. That is all it means. Thanks

I like this thread because it's a positive one, albeit subjective. My good breeder experience was with Michele O'Connell of Alpenhof in Ontario, Canada. She breeds Kirschental bitches and those were the lines we were interested in. I contacted her and described the kind of dog we were interested in. Michele asked many questions, evaluated my answers, asked some more questions, and she answered all of mine. Yes, you can ask for references, but is a breeder going to give you a negative one? Probably not, which is why this forum, others like it, and GSD e-mail lists are so important. I have to wonder how people did their research back in the olden days, BW. Before the Web :)

i have to add linda lundborg in CA lundborg-land kennels. she was great to deal with.it was 6 yrs ago, it wasn't her breeding but she imported my dog along with his sisters, that she still has. they came from Von Der Roten Matter kennels. had no problem what so ever with any paperwork or his shipping. latest import from Jinopo.cz Kira is a FANTASTIC dog. everything Jiri promised! but i did email all the DDR/Czech kennels in the states to see what they could tell me about him and his dogs before anything.
