Zeusnewmom I am the one who wrote that post and I have to tell you that I have gotten a lot of help offers, alot of good advice, and a lot of kindness. Far more positive than negative. Even I blew off a little steam, of which I am not proud. Please dont go, give the nice people a chance and you will not be disappointed. People I dont even know tried to help me and even defended me and offered apologies on behalf of others who acted in ways that should have been apologized for. I understand the way you feel but no matter where you go there will be the element of human nature that is not a credit to our species. Please stay, we want you to want to stay. :) ~~Christina

dr&fno: You made me laugh so hard milk came out of my nose.

Guess I will have to include step sister Sue in my internet family. She is the one who did the "Got Milk" commercial :)

I feel the same about this site. There is a crap load of trash talk on here that seems to spawn from nowhere almost on every post. There a few people on here though that will really help you out and send personal emails and will actually try to educate you in a very positive way. I guess this is a board for those who have tough skin so to speak. Lesson I learned from this site is to never argue that a show pup has the same potential as a working pup, haha, oh boy.

Thank you everyone that posted. I guess I was expecting to come on here and people would help. I do see that there are alot of folks that will help and then there are those that say they want to help but are know it alls instead. I will continue to come back and read and hopefully learn a few things. Heck if nothing else Ill learn how NOT to treat a person that reaches out for help only to find no solid ground beneth. By the way Im a 911 Dispatcher and thick skin is my life and a requirement for the job. I was only hoping I wouldnt have to wear it at home. Thanks again for all the positive that I have received.

I'm glad you decided to stick around. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger LOL.

You will find most dog trainers/breeders are an independent type and have their own ways. Don't get offfended just jump in and enjoy the site..

Mom,Stick around awhile. You will grow. "Do right and fear no one", is much more then a moniker on this site. It's a principle that when followed will leave you strong enough to endure any beatings.

Zeusnewmom: I am fairly new also and felt the same way in the beginning. It's like anywhere else, it takes time to figure out who knows what they are talking about and who is just a babblin' sack of *%^&.lol Now I have pretty much determined whose opinnions are worthy of respecting and whose are worthy of flushing. There are knowlegable people here who will help you. Often times I lurk anymore, but ocassionally I will post to share something in hopes it will help someone new build confidence. Don't feel on the defensive side if you have a question you want to ask-if you are afraid to ask then send a private email to someone who's opinnion you value and I'm sure they will be glad to help. Tell us about your new pup? Where'd you get it, male or female, working lines or show lines (just curious-doesn't matter to me) lol and what are your hopes for the pups future (SCH training, or just companion)?? Stick around awhile, you might find you even "like" some of us. lol Good luck with your puppy anyways.

zeusnewmom, I'm fairly new to posting on this board (I've been lurking for a while) and I can honestly say it's really not that bad! The other boards I'm on can be much tougher and can get a lot nastier. Stay around read up and learn. Do your research and take everything with a grain of salt. I've found that most GSD owners are every bit as "tough" as our dogs which is probably why we ended up with this breed!
