I agree with Q Man and I know about the Arminius weaknesses for work..I had one Remember Rex who just could not make it to the Ball drive stage but he was a wonderful GSD who smiled all the way to his grave.
Bomber will be bred to many good healthy females and you might like a softer gsd...but most of us Hard NOSERS like ours rough tough and ragged like Frie von der Gugge

You know I appreciate there are those of you who like all working dogs and I appreciate that there are those of you that prefer a pure showline. I am a purist in the fact that I believe a GSD should be everything. Should look great and work great. There are reasons why showline crosses make sense with a working line.
Recently Parrish told the board that a major showline person had bred a top showline dog to Bomber. That person after some due dillegence on my part has been identified as Erin O'Shea. The dog was
V1 SG12 2012 BSZS Aschi Vom Haus Hutfield. For those of you who do not know Erin (I don;t either just did some google research) she is a Harvard Professor of Molecular and Cellular Biology and of Chemistry and Chemical Biology, the Director of the FAS Center for Systems Biology and a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Investigator. She is a top German Shepherd owner, (She won the 2011 Seiger) and a breeder. She didnt ask for advice here that I saw on the breeding nor did Parrish. For those that dont know this and question her credentials T-Floyd just went to work training all of her dogs. I doubt he decided to go train weak dogs. For those that dont know T-Floyd well go back to bed. This lady understands genetics more than any of you here. She is a researcher by trade and I assure you she researched what she bred for months and didnt just show up and say I want to breed to Bomber. I assure you Parrish didnt just say OK. As he has stated here on numerous occasions he runs any breeding he does by Tom Trainer, Reiner Holtman and a couple other people before he says yes. Showline crosses will work it has been proven in the past. For those wondering how I found this out you can look at working-dog.eu at upcoming litters under Bomber. Simple google search of the dog found a article to the lady in a science magazine talking about her big seiger win.
When it comes to Enka and this breeding Reiner Holtman is the one who bred her to Bomber in Germany. A little known fact for you guys Reiner actually owned and trained Enka and put her SCH 1 on her. To answer the question of why if she was so great why did he sell her. Well thats what he does just like he sold Bomber. He was probably more aware of what was going on and going to happen in this breeding than any other that Bomber did in Germany. Parrish told me he went back to Reiner and asked about Enka before he took her into his breeding program and Reiner remembered her well and said absolutely do the breeding again.
When it comes to her previous litter that was sold here in the US according to Michelle at M&M most were sold to pet homes only 3-4 went to a working line homes. I am betting that these pups will all go to working homes this time and I bet the things Russ Osburn does with the dogs between 3 days and 8 weeks is far more advanced compared to M&M. That is not to knock them or their breeding program at all. The only person who appears to have had a problem with one of the pups and the alledged temperament issues is MFH27. MFH27 is a hobby breeder so to speak. She says she
"When we breed, we seek to produce top level working dogs that excel as sport, police, S&R".
However in the post above she said Enka had temperament issues implied health issues as well. On her website she said the dog had excellent temperament for sport and active home. I guess she wasnt providing a working home. When questioned about it here in front of you she said she never said negative things about others dogs and she intentionally left things out when selling the dog. Well WTF did you just do here? You tried to trash two dogs Enka and Jordan. I guess it didnt fit you when you were selling her to say negative things so you waited until after the fact?. Go back and read it for yourself. Clearly she couldnt handle a true working dog in my opinion. The true story is she said in a PM to me she was unable to bond with the dog. This makes it the dogs fault, not hers. You know temperament issues. It has nothing to do with the fact she is a Med School student (trust me from experience I know how time consuming this is) between school, studying etc plus trying to train the other two dogs she owned, and breeding them and being a wife I doubt she had the time to even put in with this dog and that is why she couldnt bond with it. The current owner of the dog sent me a message and said the dog is wonderful no temperament issues etc. It bugs the shit out of me that someone would come on here and trash this dog and the breeding based off of what I think is their own issues. Ask her how many pups she has bought and then sold because they didnt work out? There are three listed on her website. None ever got a title by her that I can find so I have to question the truth behind anything she says for whatever reason. She is not breeding top working line dogs in my opinion. Now that Enka has dropped her pups and will shortly begin working again I would keep an eye out for working videos of her because she is nasty.
Yes I take her posts a little personal because I will be an owner of one of these pups. You can like the breeding or you can hate it. It does not matter to me. I have my own tastes. I liked Enka. I like the puppies. Yes I have seen them because I travel for my work to the area a couple times a month and stopped in today to check them out. Lots of people like the puppies because Parrish has said several are sold. A couple out of the country.
Last but not least I will say this. I appreciate all of the feedback here. If my dog works like the dogs in the video from Miami Dade k9 services and goes onto tv and wont hardly bite a guy in a full body suit that is ok because Iw ill still love it. If for some reason I am unable to bond with the pup I will still love it and wont sell it. As someone that is new to the sport (just over a year) who will be getting my dogs BH in november and hopefully SCH1 in December I know that I do not know everything but what I am going to do is trust in Parrish Evans, Russ Osburn, Reiner Holtman, Tom Trainor, and the others associated with Bomber. I would guess between those guys there is close to 100 years experience. More than I will ever have. If they think the breeding makes sense then I will trust their judgement.

Never in all of history has there been a dog that has been bred as much as Bomber and not produced his share of JUNK off spring, but it seems to me he is way above the game in quality puppies.

I have had some real and real nice dogs from VA dogs but not in the last 25 years. It has changed too much for me. In fact it is hard to find a good WL dog anymore.

Add those to the massive Greif zum lahntal and with Moore's konig added as my foundation male with tons of Aggressive and Frei v d Gugge. , the black bombshell of that era trumping Konig, I had my hands full. Later I added some of black Queen of working line Tiekerhook, Esthera's kids ie Orthos to my line which were another of my favorite Black gsd. I never produced a black pup so I purchased a black bitch
Out pf a Tiekerhook breeding
I have not seen any of Bomber pups yet worked but plan a trip to Kansas to visit Lida n hope to watch Russ do his imprintin

I have never met Parrish myself but he seems to be an upstanding guy from what I have read. He shows bits here and there on fb. He did do a great thing for the vet by donating the proceeds from a puppy. There are SO MANY GOOD dogs out there. Hell he isn't even up for public stud. We all know that just because one breeding wasn't good, another one might be. I'm sure if the breeding went bad, Parrish would probably take them back........so............
I guess I just don't get the hype.
