Ironic that the "fetus" is the one with no blame or choice but is the one that gets the death penalty.

Yeah, Micaho, but you don't solve that conundrum just
by labelling all the women as murderers ...

Funny how everyone wants to tell us what we can and cannot do in a situation such as this......well if Pro Lifers don't want abortion then cover the woman's medical care and take the child and raise them themselves......but how many would really do that...........

It is foolish to take the life of the innocent child, or not even give what those who don't even call it life (when it's below a certain age.......though many, even so called scientists would skip for joy and call it life if they found cells on another planet) because of the wrong of another.  A woman claims they don't want the child because they were raped, so what, take the life of the one who did no wrong?  I know of a number of people who want to adopt, though it is costly and not always possible for some families to do so.  I understand something like rape is horrific and scarring to an individual, but why kill innocent life because someone wronged you (the one who was raped). I know a number of women who have gone through with having the child after being wronged, and they're thankful they did have the child. Or many abort because they weren't married, they conceived a child and then they claim it's just an unwanted child, so lets abort it.  Deny it or not those who cling to atheism and disregard the Bible,  sex outside of marriage/multiple "partners" leads to so many "unwanted pregnancies/babies", diseases, and so on that would not have occurred in the first place if they chose one partner, in marriage for life. I hear and note all too often teenagers who get pregnant, have an abortion........and later on get pregnant again while still in high school (you'd think they'd figure out how that works by now....sarcasm) ;  And yet all teachers do is "promote safe sex with your partners" as if that's a full proof method to stop these "unwanted pregnancies".

What I don't understand is WHY do people wait till the baby is old enough to survive outside the womb then decide to get the abortion ? If someone wants an abortion or better yet - doesn't want babies after sex - why the heck can't they take that morning after pill ?

To me - it's one thing to have your "right to choose" taking that morning after pill every time you have sex, but seriously .. how long does it take for you to know you don't want that baby ?

It's totally another thing when babies are aborted fully developed, strong enough to survive the "long procedure" abortion only to have their heads twisted off or stabbed in the soft spot of their heads to make dead !!!!  WTF !! That's MURDER !!!! Call it what it is !!!

The only place this if/then argument has any validity at all is if you were speaking about a rape scenario, because otherwise, you have made a choice that you must live with, and that a baby should not pay for with its life.  Within the rape scenario, we find ourselves trying to justify the committing of one atrocity in the wake of another; bad things happen, but is it a worse thing to kill baby than for a woman to bring an unwanted baby to term and then offer it for adoption -this is a tough call.  Interesting that our zealousness for life is so discriminate, as we attempt to remove the speck of gun related deaths while failing to address the beam of abortion deaths.  It's not really about life then is it?

"you don't solve that conundrum just

Hundmutter, I personally did not label anyone.  I simply noted that, with all the discussion of who is to blame, no one mentioned that the fetus has the least fault but suffers the most.

And Bhaugh, as GSDguy08 pointed out, there are many couples, not just pro-lifers, interested in adoption.  Abortionists are legally required to attempt to save the life of a fetus that survives an abortion so there shouldn't be any choice involved.  Granted it is a very difficult situation.

With so many options available for birth control I wonder why this is even an issue in this modern age. I really don't believe half the women who get pregnant on the pill when they say, "the pill failed me!".

Let's compare what is more important: the manner of LIfe or the manner of Death?

Gun Deaths      vs.       Abortion

Innocents die                              Innocents die
Mothers die                                 Mothers Live
Unrelated others die                     Unwanted children grow into adults with issues

How costly is adoption? Bet you have no clue. But, hey we can pay for all these unwanted babies. Why don't the pro-lifers put up or shut up? They bitch about government having to pay for medical costs and everything else and then they turn around and want more unwanted children to raise. Such damn hypocrisy.  No, wonder I have more or less given up posting here in OT. I tell you what GSDguy why don't you sponsor an unwanted child and pay to support that child. Hell since you have so much why don't you adopt several of them. Funny how you want to force your beliefs on others and stick the government to pay for welfare and medical care, then turn around and complain about higher taxes for the wealthy. What a joke.

What is most important to me, is that we think twice before attempting to qualify what an "acceptable murder" is.  Deviance is a part of all societies, and actually provides some function, according to sociological theory anyway.  Abortion is not deviance, because it has been legalized, unlike homicide.  How do we endorse the one?
