Our local school has doors that only open freely from inside, they are closed to the public except for the office which has it's own door.
The campus is vulnerable but then again so is everywhere else.
At least most schools do have some kind of security measures in place.
It could just as easily been a mall parking lot, or a movie theater.
There are no easy solutions.

They couldn't stop booze with prohibition.
They can't stop drugs.
And they won't stop guns.
Before one wishes for guns to be outlawed they should read up on countries that have already done so. The scum get their illegal guns and have their way with the law abiding people.
Check out New Zealand and how much armed home invasion went up after the legal guns were turned in.
England, they lead the world in poisining. An easy substitute.
The school here was locked down and they believe the killer just shot out a window and entered.
People should research how many violent crimes a year are stopped by legally armed citizens. Of course the agenda driven media will never publish those astounding figures.
Someone who is willing to kill someone will never follow a law that says turn in your weapons.

Teachers need the right to be armed and all schools need high security perimeter controls. There needs to be an official inquiry into current MKUltra subprograms stikll active and open investigations with citizen and scientists representation. The media needs to start covering the whole story not just govt dispensed talking points.
Here is another view that such shootings are a byproduct of bad culture (discretionary language): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_Pvj95AkDg

8:06 p.m.: Vance, speaking to CNN's Soledad O'Brien, says they'll be processing the crime scene until Sunday and that the bodies of the children and adults killed remain in the school where they fell, and will still be there until Sunday. Parents have not been allowed to see the bodies of their children. "We will leave no stone unturned" in pursuit of answering the questions of how and why this happened, says Vance. At this time he would not confirm the name of the shooter or whether he had "a personality disorder" or "a mental disorder."

James Holmes' ( the aurora shooter) father was subpoenaed to testify in the LIBOR scandal, hmmm Peter Lanza, Adam Lanza's father is also a witness in the LIBORgate trial going on now.
Just a coincidence I'm sure. I mean, the banksters never killed anyone, especially when there's trillions of $ in play right??

The shooter had mental health issues that were either ignored or dismissed because the school did not have the needed interventions in place to help him. There is a stigma that goes with mental health issues and that keeps many from seeking help. Other times people just don't want to become involved and even if they noticed the red flags.
This is the sad case with most of the mass killers, red flags that are only discussed after the fact. Too many times in past cases, the person was on one, two, or four different psychiatric medications. Therapy with a skilled experienced therapist has been proven (empirical) to help better than medication alone.
The poor families, my prayers....
