Trying not to open a new can here... Our breed is already plague with these problems and I agree with Echo that we should not leave the door open for more. We as the breeders need to worry about the breed as most puppy buyers know nothing. There are too many breeders who know nothing either and rely on silly things, maybe spaying and neuter contracts, to cover their butts so to say. I know many a so called breeder that has OBVIOUS health issues in their dog (won't even say lines here) and still breeds. Shouldn't they have them neutered/spayed? I think so!!!! I am very picky about where my pups go but I agree that spaying and nueter is not the answer...not the problem with health issues. We as breeders need to look at the health issues and start there.
