I must have thought I was dreaming, didn't realize that I was pleasing you! Just kept going and going did I?
by LMH on 22 October 2006 - 01:10
DR--
Yup! 'Gone' is just how I'd put it. The commercial's ending---gotta go. Talk later.

by DesertRangers on 22 October 2006 - 01:10
That's usually what happens after the pleasing is done!

I love beautiful dogs---I love beautiful things
Your words LMH...
You would really like me!lol

Shush DR--
You almost made me miss the part about Harry and Dobby (the House Elf) discussing why he needs news clothes; not to mention, the wand battle between Harry and Draco--where Harry learns he can talk to snakes.

Hi p59,
of course i do NOT lump up american breeders. What i found is, i used to live in the US, you have honest peopel all over this world and you have dishonest peopel all over this world. Problem is, you have to find the ones that you personally trust in.
As to your regards on guarantees, we read it every day on here, guaranzeed hips, dog has bad hips breeder wont reeimburst the buyer and so on, and on...
I stick to it, and this is what i tell my puppy buyers: I did the best i could with my breeding, i raised my pups in the way it should be done, i choose the parents with caution to genetic issues, before my bitch gets bred i check about 150 pedigrees, to figure out what the chances are. Now the pup leaves my house, an all happy camper as to my Vet healthy as healthy can be. Do i have controll over how the new owner treats the pup, how he feeds him, maybe the new owner lets him run up & down the stairs all day long, and after 12 month they want to have the pup replaced ? You know, i am a reasonable man, talk to me and we will figure something out. Maybe we can talk about partly getting reimburst, or to get a discount on a pup out of the next breeding, but talk to me, and try to understand my position. i do not need to give a guarantee, because some things are bound to happen, regardless how correct i do my stuff.
When nature takes its course, it is something that can not be prevented. This does not mean, one should not take precaution or not try to do as best as he can.
I wish everybody a nice Sunday !
Bob- i will get to you tonight, on my way to a show.

Oskar, you couldn't have stated it better. This is an honest forthright position for any breeder that does his/her best to produce a good product. It's refreshing for a puppy buyer to hear this up front with no excuses. (This is why breeders who sell dogs older than 9 months with established temperament, appearance health and joints can charge a small fortune and get it (and it is worth it for the buyer to get certainty on these matters). Without an older dog purchase the puppy buyer has to select a breedr he/she feels is doing the best job possible, do his best to select what he/she feels is the best overall puppy, and then live with the results, blaming no one for a bad outcome but the luck of the draw. This "informed consent" you describe Ulli is an excellent forthright position. Hat's off to you.

Hi Preston,
thank you very much, i apriciate that. I often fear, due to my limited english, that i might be missunderstood.
The way i handle things, i have found it works the best for all involved. Key word is : HONESTY ! Just as simple as that. It always gets me when its advertised " show quality, superb quality ...." and then they mark up the price ! How fun is that ! If you breed 2 quality dogs you have a good chance to have quality pups. And yes , i would consider every of my pups "show quality", but does that make them automaticly more worth ? They could compete in a show anytime, but do i know at 6-7 weeks what placings that pup will achieve ? Hey,that pup is "show quality", it competed in a show ...... but made the last place !! There are some 20 000 pups bred here in Germany, they do not all compete, many of them of the finest quality that are just living a good life with their family.
Kind Regards

Giggles- I would HIGHLY recommnd Kirschental kennels. Their INCREDIBLE male Sherry has just produced (with Faye vom Kirschental), a magnificent litter of pups. For more information see:
www.kirschental.de/hunde.
The username is : gsd, and the password : kirschental.
I have several females from Kirschental, and would not take a million bucks for them. All of my dealings with Marion and Karl have been beyond exceptional, and I am proud of my relationship with them.
