Jessica If the contract says the 29th and only one puppy you may have a claim against him for taking two. The guy sounds like a jerk. It sad to say but there are people out there who will take advantage of others. File your complaint and I wish you luck, you'll probably need it, as if he is prepared to act like that he will proably also lie about what happened. Best Chris

By waiting until tomorrow to file, lessens the urgency when you DO report it. If it were me, I would do it NOW. Also...since he forcibly removed the pups from your hands, if you got the 'right' officer, he may try to file strong armed robbery. Probably would never stick in court, but sure would make him seriously think about it...BIG time felony. You also need to advise the officer that not only are you concerned for the pups, but the health of your dam is in jeopardy! She was still nursing and could have complications now. But I can't stress enough...you need to do it NOW..not tomorrow!

Jessica, that comment was not directed at you but ProudShep that suggested they may not survive. Of course he had not right to take them. Where did I say otherwise? But its done now. Time for damage control! I can only assume that you are in such dispair because you expect little help from the police. Still, call them asap. Better yet, go directly to the police in the city he lives in. Definite yes to soothers, did not sound like you just let them stroll out of there. Even the police in Romania may take offense to two big guys waltzing into a womans appartment and posing enough of a threat to be able to take something without permission, puppies or not. If you make that clear enough for them they might just spring into action.

Even if the pups weren't being properly cared for, he's still wrong for just taking them. This David guy has done something wrong and immoral. No one can deny that. I do like what Jannette said about letting the dogs loose on him. Jessica, you may want to invest in a shotgun, sub machine gun or a hitman. I personally, if it happened to me would burn his house down.

Mosemancr, I hope you are joking... two wrongs never make a right, and that is about the most pathetic thing I have heard on this board so far. Get a hitman or burn someones house down over a couple of pups? Sorry, no matter how much you care about dogs, but even thinking that, never mind sharing that thought publicly is just sick. Nice direction this board is headed.

by Mosemancr on 01 September 2006 - 02:09

Yes it was a joke. I usually always do the morally permissible if not the supererogatory action. Lighten up a little D.H.

by Mosemancr on 01 September 2006 - 02:09

But if I really were to burn the house down, Id save the animals first.

Hi, I have told the police and we shall see. I am not hopeful though. The mother on the otherhand is doing ok. I had a friend talk to the guy who said that he thought he was doing me a favor when he took the pups. Sure a favor wouldn't be taking them without my consent now would it. I am still very mad and hope that people don't ever do busness with this person ever. He should be banned from breeding and so I am also writing the FCI and the COR to complain about this person and see if I can get him banned from breeding though he will just use his friends name saddly. I will let you guys know what happens with the police. Jessica Ginter

I am confussed! Did he pay for the dogs, or did he give you a dog for the pups? Did you have a signed contract to secure the situation? This to me would be a clear case for civil court. Not really a Police issue at all. You had a form of agreement with the individual. Either verbal or written. That individual did not want to wait till pups were weaned a given. That is where animal control is concerned. As far as the situation he may have argued with you, and took the pups. But that again is in reality a civil court issue. Not recognised as theft what so ever, well not here in Canada. Not good good and or responsible dealings either way of either party.
