The  BH is a test that enables you to begin training for a schutzhund title.  It is not considered a title with in the sphere of schutzhund.  If your dog does not pass the test, you do not move forward.  It's a qualification test that exibits the control you will need for the actual titles.

Here is an easy way to understand what the BH is.

A BH is not a working title any more than passing an entrance exam means you have a educational degree.

It is like passing the SATs in high school. Or the MCAT to get into med school. It lets you go on to the next level. It says you have the potential for higher level learning.

There are 60 points to be earned in a BH. You need 42 points to pass. The points aren't logged but my judge asked one of the guys getting a BH at the same time as me how many points it requires to pass, he answered 42 and the judge said that is your score. So sometimes judges will tell you your points
