Seriously though, polls at this point are meaningless - once the Republican nominee is chosen, it will start to mean something. I cited that poll only to follow up on Sue's point about SM sounding desperate!

I couldn't agree more. Most polls once they declare all the data surrounding the people polled are somewhat tainted.
The problem this time is there just might be a viable third candidate that garnishes enough votes to influence the election. Like Ross Perrot actually helped Clinton.
Bee I never heard of that College. Hey you learn something everyday. I have to go check if I have a cheek tattoo now. LOL

SM, how many times did Reagan, Bush HW and Bush W atttend church while president?
If I'm not mistaken, Reagan didn't go to church during his Presidency.
Bush mostly attended the Chapel at Camp David, but wasn't a regular church-goer. I've no idea of how many times he actually went.
It's a myth, though, that Obama's low church attendence is abnormal- it's quite in keeping with the past few Presidencies, with the exception of Clinton's.

I posed the question to SM with full knowledge of the answer and I was not surprised that she refrained from answering the question. It is no different than her doing the disappearing act after I demonstrated with specifics that it was Republican presidents starting with Reagan who pretty much increased the national debt by almost 10 times compared to what it was when Carter left office.

Reagan’s religion, in turn, comes across as important, but quirky. Entries for early 1981 include references to Armageddon being in the air. Reagan also sets down his strong feelings that the fetus is a living human being and that the Shroud of Turin is authentic. He was obviously bothered by his limited church attendance, especially in the wake of the 1981 assassination attempt, as we can glean from his comments about how “elaborate security measures” made his visits “a hazard to others.”

As far as the polls go, it's way too early. Some GOP candidates have not officially entered the race yet. Therefore, they aren't in the polls.

Answer: to reveal the facts.
"You make it sound like Mittens didn't go to any Straw Polls and that's why Ron Paul wins all the time."
Sometimes the truth hurts.

Speaking of the other Prez's and their religious beliefs...............Wasn't it Nancy Reagan who was deep into the horoscopes and couldn't make a move without her advisor? Hmmmm wonder who was paying for that? I'd definately be more worried about a First Lady being into that then skipping church every now and again..................

The links you posted especially the first one by the Washington Post are decieving and infact marginalizing Ron Paul not even mentioning his name. Think about it, Ron Paul has won EVERY STRAW POLL how/why would/could they not mention his name ?

I could be wrong.
