Wanderer, I'm surprised you haven't been able to find a lab to carry out the required DNA test for this. Parentage testing is now commonplace so identical twin testing should be a doddle.

The university teaching hospital advised me that DNA testing for parentage is quite common but not "robust" or "extensive" enough to prove identical twins. That is what they said. I know little about DNA testing and what can and cannot be proved.
