giardia doesn't always show up in an exam. my vet will treat it anyway if the symptoms are there.

I would start getting something down the pup, even if I had to use a syringe. The Dyne is excellent.

The pups had to have a vet exam just a few days ago for the passport. I would get it back to the vet and if nothing showed up again, I would do just as Robin suggested, with or without my vet's approval.

Hi Dog1, In addition to just going ahead with the treatment for coccidia aand giardia, I would also try to feed her in view or close proximity to other dogs or pups eating. For example, put her crate next to others and feed at the same time. Since she is so young, it is possible the she is used to eating with her litter, or other dogs, and may be feeling stressed and overwhelmed now that she is alone. Good luck, can't wait to see her! :-) Theresa

Have you tried a can of Green Tripe with any of the meats or feeds? It usually works for me when I have one that turns it's nose up at everything. I was amazed at what they will eat with tripe on it.

I had this long ago with a puppy. The vet gave some meds to settle tummy. And it took a few days for the dog to eat. I just fed her the food the breeder had been giving and moistened it with warm water.

If the dog is lively, it is too early to panic. Some dogs handle stress very badly.

Good luck and congrats on new baby.

I brought two back and spent a few days in Germany with them. They were fine leaving the breeder and did well on the three day trip. We stopped numerous places in wet weather from the Dusseldorf area to Mainz, to Washington DC, to WV. All the places were wet and had standing water. It's starting to add up.

Brother has a healthy appetite. Food from Germany doesn't clear customs unless you smuggle it in. I was asked three times if I bought any back. They were fed kibble and meat in Germany.

I'll bet Debby, Duderino, Robin, and the others that suggested treating for cocciddia and giardia have the right answer. I isolated them started treating them as soon as I read Debby's post. Sometimes it helps to get some feedback from others.

I can tell you from experience, trying to smuggle dog food or (any meat product) into the US is a monumentally POOR idea.

How are the puppers doing today? Better I suspect!
