Listen and take note to YR.  Other breeders or people saying do not give a second pup. Troulbleinx? With what we have heard here How can one's name be raked through mud and accuser have an ounce of credibility??? First, sorry for the loss of the pup but that has no bearing on you, and if you are a breeder, your breeding business or your breeding practices. Now I am only going on what I have read but FIRST, let's talk legalities. If you have the energy, time and money I would have them charged with animal neglect, cruelty thus resulting in death. Whatever verbage your location/humane society uses. Twofold: To do what is right by information however; phone, person, verbal, e-mail? with the facts "given" by the owners. and to NIP whatever they are attempting to accomplish. (And to show anyone else to not MESS with your reputation/business/name!

Once you initiate, your lawyer will subpoena those records and that should be the end of that. THEN you counter sue and have them pay all court costs involved.

Any conversations with whoever, especially the vet put that conversation on paper and have it notarized or an affidavit. Keep documentation of all dates, time frames, conversations and even he said she said! Also, two fold: Once you start with your lawyer I would think Humane Society would start with their investigation. A double whami. And don't worry to an extent on your name, worry about what might take place with the new pup. REMEMBER: when push comes to shove and the pup(s) can't take care of themselves! Good luck!

Can you imagine how that poor dog must have felt with 108 temp? Because they didnt want to spend any money on the dog, they let the dog suffer until it died on its own. (you didnt mention that it was euthed). Hell would freeze over before I gave them another dog. I would fight whatever they threw at you. Contract or not.

What is wrong with people!

Troublelinx recants his pervious statement.  If they were 1/2 as concerned about taking the pup to the vet as they are about getting$$$ refunded the pup would not have died.  Sounds like the pup was on deaths door step when they took him to the vet.  If you are bound by contract for genetics refund the money if they can prove something was wrong with the pup, a prexisting condition.  Only problem with that is they dont like to spend money on their dogs in the 1st place.  so they could never proove it.  They would get on respect from me.

You will never hear anything from these people..They will or do not have any grounds for any court proceedings...

IT is all mouth and you will never hear any more from them...Many a person has threatened these kinds of things when they have a pup that dies from their own neglect or from parvo or some unknow cause.

You will not be sued, I can bet you on this one.  I had one threaten me to pay him 3,000.00 f0r a $800.00 pup that supposidly had a heart murmur...He was gonna sue me for  1. cost of the pup, 2. 900.00 for spaying the dog to keep her from being bred, 3. Meds for 5 years  4. 1,800.00 vet bills for the next 3 yrs as she had to be tested and checked by  Texas A & M every year.

Can't remember what else without looking it up...but I almost died laughing...I ask for verified records and to this day have never gotten them..BUT he and his dad were on their way to the courthouse right then to sue me...

The dog is three years now and all of a sudden he was gonna do Schutzhund (but had no time because of classes at A & M) for obedience...and the vets said she is liable for your not being able to do that sport..

VET never read the contract and the contract was signed and was very thorough...MUST prove any medical hereditary diseases other than that no guarantees as pup left premises in good health with a VET examination and was sold as a pet on limited registration..

The funniest part of the story is that the demand letter I received by email was written by a law firm in  Bryan , Tex...not signed by an attorney but his name was on bottom...I laughed for three days...after he got my HOT reply.

Sorry for the loss of the pup, but IMO the owner was negligent (sp) in not seeking medical advice sooner.
NO way would they get a replaicement pup from me, Listen to YR, they have not provided you with any vetenairy proof that their was any genetics at fault.    R.I.P lil pup
