0/0 , 1/1/ and so on is Czech. The form you see on the beginning is FCI which is another evaluation in Czech. I'll check on it and let you know if I am wrong . There are changes there all the time.

What is 34 according to BVA equal to?Is it severe dysplatic or what?I also don´t get your statement " how could this happen to a dog that was bred in Czech ?"
As Hans stated in Czech republic they have these ratings from 0/0 to 4/4.We used to have the same in Slovakia,now we use A,B,C,D,E.For breeding are allowed dogs with hips score from 0/0 , 0/1 ... to 2/2.

What is 34 according to BVA equal to?"

British Veterinary Association/Kennel Club
Hip Dysplasia Scheme – Procedure Notes

for each hip joint a score is derived by evaluation of nine separate features by employing a set of defined criteria.  The final score is the SUM of the points awarded for each of the nine radiographic features of BOTH hip joints.  The minimum score for each hip is 0 and the maximum is 53, which gives a total range of 0-106. The LOWER the score the less the degree of hip dysplasia evident;

Thank you Daryl,for your help,I think people may now understand what we are refering to,I do believe we now may get this back on track,all Im asking for is for someone to come foward that has any encounter of czech dogs with this sort of score,I did not know czech bred dogs were that high.

I find it unbelievable that British dogs could score "so low" on average.  Nowhere have I found a description of the "nine separate features" that are evaluated, but there's a detailed breakdown of all the pounds they'll seperate from your pocketbook.  You could always take the "Rescoring under appeals" option for £83.34 to £100.00  Or, submit your radiographs to a different certifying organization.  Sort of adds a duplicitous meaning to the phrase Canine Health Schemes (CHS).

Does your dog seem dysplastic?

No Daryl,I did not buy the dog in question,I did want to ,until they had the hips done under the BVA,and was totally put off by the hip score,real nice dog too ! wondering now if the dog was scored whilst under the influence !! real disapointed,have you seen them that high  ?

Just a question - If 106 is the worst score,what is so bad about score of 34?

katesgillkennels

by katesgillkennels on 15 January 2011 - 15:01

The fact is if you have a dog from czech that has a BVA score of 34,and you were told it was A2 normal,something is wrong,Also how bad is 34 really in czech terms !! I would like to be put straight on this,as at the minute I am confused..A2 normal,and BVA34,just dont seem to fit.

sometimes people try to screw somebody with a fake set of xrays , hoping the buyer would never recheck them again , this happens all over the world , no exclusivity for any country ,as are good or bad hips ,  A normal would and should not equal bad rating in any country
