Does that mean you are working with a trainer, now? One that you have confidence in?

Doberdoodle,,,,I had a great time making this slide,,,,Here is his pedigree   ...http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/german_shepherd_dog/pedigree/659136.html

No, I do not plan to breed. I would like to get involved in a sport of some type, and I would enjoy showing in conformation.....

Deanna - you have a beautiful dog.

I know this advice is now too late -- but, in the future, be careful of the information you provide on this Board.   You will be bludgeoned again and again about Prince's temperament by "certain" individuals.   There are SOME extremely knowledgeable people on the Board -- but NOT ALL of them.   Sift through the comments.

          Beetree, ,,,
I have been spent a good deal of time researching trainers to find one that I trust and I feel is qualified to work with me and Prince. I have had the good fortune to find three good candidates for the job. I have been corresponding with these trainers over the last month or so.  I will be making a long, but worth while trip in the very near future to work with a trainer.....

Maggie,,,Your post is well taken,,,,,and true.....

Sure he can help!!!!!!!!!!! I will bet the farm he can also provide world peace!LOL LOL  Ruger I also have a dog from Julie! Out of Albert and ikasha VM!  Your boy looks marvelous! One thing you must ALWAYS keep in mind  when it comes to owning a purebred gsd!  If you plan on training and  participating in schutzhund you must become a cold hearted SOB when it comes to  interacting with dog people! If not you will spend many sleepless nights  worried over your dog and what others say! I have had several people tell me that I should get another dog because she would not bite for them and other helpers tell me snidely that she was a piece of shit!  well after almost three years of heart ache and effort she is biting ! It takes TIME AND EFFORT AND THE CORRECT HELPER WHO IS NOT JUST AN ASSHOLE WEARING A SLEEVE! sHOWLINES ARE a bit different than working lines! And those trainers and helpers who tell you to not come back or get another dog or your dog has this or that are only ANNOUNCING THE  DEFECIENCY THEY HAVE TO CORRECTLY TRAIN A DOG!I have been told repeatedly that gsd do not even begin to mature until several years old  and it may take that long to see what you are looking for! Do not give up  because your boy is worth your efforts to provide the correct helper and training! It took time and the correct helper to bring out the bite in my girl!

Getting her dog to bite is not the problem............she needs utter control over her dog, and she knows it.
