Liesjers

Steve, our rule is the same.  The dog must be re-surveyed after two years to be KKL "for life".

Schluterton, in order to be in the "open" class the dog is 24 months or older and no title.  The open class dogs are not rated, only ranked (like first, second, third place), and usually the open class is not offered at Sieger shows.  A dog does not have to enter the open class, and cannot receive a rating in that class anyway.

Dogs can still breed survey they would just have to be "G" or better in the working class once they get their title.

The WDA Breed Survey requirements are:

- Only German Shepherd Dogs may participate at a breed survey.

- Dogs must be at least two years old during the year of the breed survey.

- Proof of a BH and at least one SchH1 or IP1 trial result that was judged by an SV, SVF, GSDCA-WDA, or USCA trial judge and passed with a score of at least 80 in the C phase, or an HGH. Dogs with an HGH title are not required to pass a BH. (NOTE: If the working titles were not obtained under SV or SVF judges, the Breed Survey may not be recognized internationally.)

- Proof of an endurance test that was judged by an SV, SVF, GSDCA-WDA, or USCA judge. The endurance test (AD) is not required for dogs with an HGH title or dogs that are six years or older. (NOTE: If the AD was not obtained under an SV or SVF judge, the Breed Survey may not be recognized internationally.)

- SV hip “a” stamp in the pedigree papers (or OFA or other “a” stamp approved by the SV). SV elbow ED stamp in the pedigree papers (or other ED stamp approved by the SV).

- Proof of a minimum breed show evaluation of “good” (G) that was conducted by an SV or SVF show judge.

- The dogs must be identifiable by means of a tattoo or microchip.

Thank goodness for Chris, she's come to my rescue once again. Thanks to the folks at the WDA for helping me out too. You can get a breed survey on a dog over two, it just needs to be titled first and shown in the working class rather than the over two untitled class. Glad this problem is solved.

Sonofa(*&^(&*!!

I just showed our two year old bitch in the open (untitled) class because I thought the SG would count when we go to survey her. I was one of the many unaware! It's good to know that we can still survey her but it really sucks that it will take two events now to do so, when there are already few events as it is. We might not make it to working class at the NASS this year after all.

Kelly,
why not? You can show her if you get a SchH1 by October. She will still fall under the three and a half year rule and be eligible for a V-rating. In Germany, I would not advise that but they are different. They have more events and would not excuse that for the lack of survey, but here it should not matter.

Kelly, here is the USA-link to the regulations (Sieger Show): germanshepherddog.com/regulations/sieger_show_rules.htm
I could not find the WDA regulations but they should be the same (it is adopted from the SV).

To qualify for a V-Select rating, dogs must have currently a breed survey ranking of Class 1, have complete and faultless dentition or must have a dental notation as established by the breed book office, the “a” Stamp or OFA Certification and must have at least a SchH 2 title or equivalent. They must come from a survey and performance breeding dogs competing for the V-Select rating a second time must have a SchH 3 title.

To be eligible for the rating of Excellent, dogs must possess the “a” Stamp or OFA Certification and when over three and one-half years of age, must be currently Breed Surveyed

My original plan was June for the SchH1 but we won't be ready. Haven't been able to get in with our trainer. It would be a tight squeeze getting the SchH1, the show rating, and the survey, but at least now I know if I can't squeeze in all three events I could show her at the NASS minus the survey if I really had to. I had also really wanted to breed her on her next cycle but this all cuts it really close. Gotta do her elbows, too.

Thanks Chris! I assumed she had to be surveyed to be in the working class at all, she would only be two. BTW Mike, did you see she is SG1? Only three in the class, but I'll take it, with a very nice critique.  :)

God, I love when we can still get pertinent information on this board.

Kelly,

Showing her at a national event without a survey might really hurt her in the working class. You will need the elbows done.

Oh, I knew about the elbows. It's on my infamous "to-do" list. Thank you for letting me know about the survey. It would be a long and costly trip to VA.
