Have you ever heard of the "Baker's dozen"? That was something real that happened in England, maybe four hundred years ago. A law was made against bakers to prevent them from shorting their customers on baked goods.. under penalty of death!!!! So, to be safe, the baker's started putting in an extra scone or whatever.. 13 in total. That way, if they accidentally shorted the customer, they still got the dozen they paid for.
We are really losing our equal rights protections in the courts and it's becoming a lot more like England of four hundred years past, complete with forfeiture of property and escheat. We are losing our rights to property and equal protection under the law, especially if we conduct business with the public.

This guy that I'm referring to as a client has some real issues and this isn't the way they are addressed when there is a problem. Now I found out that this man is planning on doing some breeding of his own although I don't know the name of his kennel, but will find out here shortly as I'm waiting on a call from Mike. And to think you know people when dealing with them really has taught me more than a lesson on how to read a person a bit closer.

The AKC registers over 1,000 GSD litters a month, which probably averages nearly a 100,000 GSD's annualy, not even counting the ones imported. That's only the registered litters. And that's only one single breed among several popular ones. For example, labrador retriever litters registered are even double that!
If there were about 2 GOOD litters a month, I sure wouldn't complain!

I was surprised to see Andy and Melanie on there as there is not a dog with them in the pedigree.
I don't know about anyone else but I did not expect to see the Angels, God and ectt on this site after reading his email. Talk about surprised

The pet overpopulation problem is real, but it is nowhere near the level it was back in the 70's, 80's and onward to a lesser degree, as it has steadily decreased since then. Especially purebred dogs.. the level of overpopulation has strongly decreased. I used to go into the 'pounds to look at them, and it broke my heart. But, apparently some hearts are much more callous.. That would be some of the animal control people who love to raid breeders and steal their dogs, only to throw them into these canine gulags, where many of them sicken and die in short order. It's all a day's work to some people, believe me... They pretend to care, but they do not. And, THIS is the solution, to attack breeders and torment and kill their dogs.. Good sport for sick, malicious people, but not exactly FAIR sport when the target is a frail old woman like Emma Harter and the object is to run up a huge boarding bill on her and steal her home and life savings.
Go and watch a Discovery Channel show about the sea tortoises.. See that a thousand of hatch and struggle to live, and only one makes it to come back and lay eggs, years later.. This is the reality of life. You and I may squirm and cry, because we are human and we are made to feel these sympathies.. But, we cannot change the basic plan. The reason that so many puppies are born in a litter is simply to compensate for natural losses in the wolf ancestor. Even in our contrived and manufactured societies, it is impossible to afford each and every dog a great home for life. We can try, and we can make a big difference for the better, but be careful not to empower evil people to do worse, because they may and they will. Some people don't give a shit and there's nothing you can do to change that, either. Try to create a Utopian society by any means, and you will fail and end up with a totalitarian nightmare.
I personally do not care to breed dogs to sell to the public, anymore, but there are not always so many choices, realistically. The only alternative may be not to breed, at all.. And, that is simply not an option, unless you consider a sterile rock in space as an ethically superior and better place than Earth, with all it's wonders and miracles.. tragedy notwithstanding..
