Two Moons

by Two Moons on 22 December 2009 - 01:12

MaxBear,
I would never ask you to fight for my beliefs, and if you really want to fight for Americans freedom stay home, you'll be needed here.

Don't take it all so personal.

No one's fighting for my freedom that I know of.    They may very well think they are, but I don't buy it.

I'm glad that you are proud of your career in the military, I'm not knocking any military personnel.
The buck stops at the top.

Merry Christmas,

Moons.

Two Moons,

Do you enjoy the freedom you have and live on a daily basis? Thank a vet for it.

I'm sorry jaggirl,
Don't mean to offend.
We fought that war so many years ago.

I do appreciate our military, I understand what your saying.
But I see current military operations around the world doing other things.

Like I said it all lays on our leader and the policies our government decides to follow.

Anyone who serves, be it military or civilian deserve respect for what they do.
Not saying I wouldn't thank any of them personally, but my freedom is something all together different.

Anyway.............thanks.

But have you been there and seen what the soldiers do? Are you aware that if we, as a world power, do not handle things around this world, not just in the US itself, things would be alot worse? I served in Iraq. I am damn proud of what I did there. My husband is over there right now. Al Qaeda is all over, as well as many more who would love to step up in their shoes. I for one never want to see another 9/11 happen. My uncle was in the Pentagon when it was hit. I am thankful he is alive. He is also an Gulf War vet. My father is a Vietnam vet. My one grandfather is a WW2 and Korea vet. My other was a POW after the Battle of the Bulge in WW2. All of my greatgrandfathers served in WW1. Threats are all around. We do what we can so you don't realize it and you can live your life as you wish every day.

I am of the Vietnam era,
I'm not going to argue with you about it.

One day maybe, but not right now.

I am of the Viet Nam era too  ....Two Moon.....and past that time too! It has ALWAYS been politics...but if you think for one second your ass isn't free and allowed to talk crap...then you smoked one too many back in the "Era"
Thanks Jaggirl for yours and your Hubby's service! Also for articulating what I wanted to say but was too pissed off to say.
Two moon will continue to say and think what he wants...and it is so...because of folks like you and your Hubby....whether he wants to admit it or not. Again I also say...the Bases don't Ban breeds....some Housing areas do..and they are a CHOICE to live in...not  a have to do thing. No different then renting a house or apt in the Civilian sector....SSDD   Wake up folks....you have much to be thankful for and be happy about....so said we go where we do sometimes......as in down the trail as too Who has a "Right" to own a dog /GSD.

Well said MaxBear. I'm just glad I found an awesome breeder with awesome lines who is not predjudiced against me for being in the military. I will be adding to my family next summer with our new GSD pup and I couldn't be happier. I treat my dogs better than I do my hubby (thank god he understands me!).

Sure there are some breeders out there that are in it for the almighty $$$, they don't care who they sell to as long as they get their money!!!! Mira is a perfect example of that...
I am not against breeders...but why don't you consider a rescue dog, since you used to work in a Humane Society, you know how many homeless dogs, including GSD's there are...why buy from a breeder, after you have worked at the Humane Society....jaggirl?????

I don't think anyone has it out for you just because your military regardless of what you read into the threads on this site.
Don't take it so personal.

I know how and why I am what we want to call free.   I have no illusions.

A standing army is only has important as the politics behind it, once someone decides they don't care about the world itself and unleash nuclear weapons all this is mute.

I understand where your coming from and thats fine.

We disagree on the details..

I already said thank you to you both, thats more than my brothers got in their day.

Because of the fact that when I got my current GSD, I did not do my homework and thought all breeders were the same. Even after working at the humane society, this was what I thought. I bought my boy from a BYB. He has had non-stop health issues since the age of about 18 months. I have spent more money than I can count on the regular vet, e-vet, medications, etc. He is also getting a new hip next month as he has HD in the left hip and has since he was a pup. At this time, I feel much more comfortable knowing where this dog is coming from, the breeder, the parents, illnesses running in the line, etc. I do not have an issue with a rescue, I think overall they are wonderful organizations. A group of us just recently got a pup rescued from a high kill shelter and placed in a home. But, at this time, it has to do with my comfort after everything I have gone through with my boy.

As far as the breeder, it's not about the almightly $$$. I have spent alot of time speaking with him and us getting to know each other to build up a relationship. I feel extremely comfortable getting a dog from him as I know he is comfortable with me getting one. This is something I have been preparing myself for over the past year. That is also on top of interviewing several breeders to find out which one I felt the best going with.

Oh, and I live on a military base and do not have a fenced in yard so I wouldn't get accepted by a rescue anyways. Even with the fully fenced, free run acre a block up the road that I take my boy to all the time for exercise.
