Two Moons

by Two Moons on 24 November 2009 - 18:11

No one gets involved until it bites them in the ass, and by then its too late.
I am as guilty as the rest.
I'm waiting for everyone to get bitten so we can all join together and become a community once again.
We will lose a few things, but it will be worth it to bring people together.
Divide and conquer is the plan to keep us weak and unorganized, they walk on egg shells not to upset the status quo.
But when the time is right they will walk all over us all as one.
If I have lost my enthusiasm it is because I think they are going to win out over us.
What really troubles me is how we have been programed over time to take it and go on about our lives, baby steps.
Preparing us for that day when they begin to leap instead of creep.
This has been going on for quite some time now, and no one even noticed.
I would not want to live in any major city in the U.S. in these times.

See,
Mystere doesn't even want to hear it.
Yet here he or she is trying to stop us from the discussion.
Go to a dog thread and knock your lights out Mystere, no one is trying to stop you.
No one forced you to participate.

Your entitled to your opinion,

Moons.

That isn't what she was saying, Moons.

Well then I stand correct, please except my apologies.
I guess I've just been conditioned to respond in that manner.

On another note,
Do any Germans still actually herd sheep?
Or do they only use a German Shepherd Dog?

More off color humor, more apologies.

Moons.

Hi Moons, I'm changing my whole post because of your mention of shepherds!!!!!

Obviously there are still sheep farms in Germany and probably some that use GSDs.  Hopefully some of our German members will be able to speak directly to this question and provide links to some sites in Germany.  As you know, Germany has become less and less rural, so the demand for this type of work is dissapearing.  This is something Max v Stephanitz was very aware of early on in the breeds developement and the reason the breed was developed to be of service to military and police, among other things.
Here are a couple of places that use and teach GSDs tending, German style:

P.S.  I hope your tooth isn't worse today!

 Moons,

I think you misread completely what Mystere (a she) is saying. She IS saying that this is EXACTLY the kind of topic we should be discussing here on this GSD forum, rather than most of the lame ass, crazy conspiracy theories or politics so many post. Believe me Moons, she is on our side.

But, I will strongly disagree with you about "programming". I personally have not been programmed, and I doubt that you have either. You just choose to think you can do nothing and so that is how you view things. I bet with some work you could change that and perhaps change other things you find onerous as well. But I understand the feeling.....I feel it all too often anymore as well.

Multiple teeth, little sleep, holidays coming, dentist closed, insurance topped out, little on hand cash, not using the pain killers waiting for the big one to come, and I meant my apology.
Maybe I'm just a little fuzzy today, much on my mind.

Your right Hodie,
We disagree.
I'll leave it at that.

Yes, moons, I think there are still Germans herding sheep.  I remember walking with my dog and coming across a flock inside of a portable electric fence enclosure...the dog thought she might herd them...and then she learned about electric fences.

I had wild Mouflon sheep at one time,
My dog tried to herd them and was knocked off her feet and sent flying in the air.
The rams are very aggressive.
I used an electric fence on them but they would mow it down if something spooked them.
It took three shocks for the dogs, five for the sheep, and seven for me, before I remembered the wire.
