You were being rude! Pardon me for saying so but......LDD has GSD's maybe not your color choice but they are none the less, still GSD's. Just white ones. Not the standard, we all know that. Get over yourself. I'm not a fan of LDD but she/he still didn't deserve what you posted!

The topic of your thread is "Picked on because of breed". Did you not just shun LDD because of the dogs that she has, tell her to go away, your not our kind? You sound like the leader of a click in middle school. Is that how you want people to view you? I would think not. But that is the impression I'm getting. People may know you but alot don't and then this his how they see you. I'm sorry to say but you put yourself out there as better than others. That is only the impression I am getting. If you don't like what someone says you just tell them to "go away now?" Also, excape is really escape. Just stating the facts as I see 'em. Don't go putting me on your hit list now.

Jen

Excuse me for saying so but wasn't this topic: Picked on because of breed?

All I ever get when I'm out with my girl are compliments on how well behaved she is and the only time people show an 'awareness' of her breed is when they respectfully ask if it's all right to pet her or if she's a 'service' dog.

My husband had dropped us off at Petco because we decided it was better for me to thake them in the store then to leave them in the car while he shopped at the local hardware store. This was on the way home from SchH practice a few weeks ago.
The place was packed, it was customer appriciation day and they were having a best tressed dog contest....There had to be 3 dozen little poodledoos of all kinds in silly costumes waling the isles...It seemed that half of the customers were un attended kids who wanted to climb all over my dogs. they were also had multiple dog resuce orginazitions and pet photography too.....
Inspit of the circus, I took Hero and Sita inside to pick out some squeeky balls and training treats. There were so many people of all ages wanting to pet and play with my dogs that I had to hurry with my purchases and get out.
We waited outside of the store and while waiting people would start conversations about gsd's that used to have or the ones they wanted to get. I would do my best to educate about the OFFA and other hip certifications and how important it was to only buy puppies from certified parents.
I told my dogs to lay down and to stay. People and children form diaper aged to retired all petted my dogs and they just stayed and waited for it all to end. One of the little boys grabbed Hero's lips and pull them up to see his teeth.....I stopped him as quickly as I could. Anyway Hero just sat ther and took it. When the kid let go, Hero actually licked the kid........
I was so glad when my husband came and rescued us from the mob........and so were the dogs............
That being said.....no my dogs are not viscious, and yes I bend over backwards to promote the breed.......
This woman was having a really bad day and wanted to push us around.......when we didn't jump through a hoop at her command she went crazy!

about 5 years later, that same woman ran up to me, gave me a hug, asked how i was doing, and apologized profusely, saying how sorry she was, she was on drugs then and just wanted money to get some. she said my dog definitely did not do anything to her at all and she hoped i wasn't mad at her.
yeah it's wise to be careful. there are plenty of psychos out there. out here, anyway.
