Hey Steph...mine flushed a hen and about 5 half grown baby grouse today. Does that count even though I wasn't hunting??
I have a friend in Missoula that use to bird hunt with her GSD, she swore he put the bird dogs to shame.

Steph,
Yeah Livingston blew, thats how I ended up here.    The town had just lost the rail road jobs and the land was up the Galitin?   I don't remember which range the land for sale was in.   I loved the weather, it was November.
A friend lived there at the time.
Where is Hamilton?
Moons.

Hamilton is 60 miles south of Missoula, on HWY 93, which is in the south-western part of the state, almost to the Idaho border....it is called the Bitterroot Valley, the Bitterroot Flower is the state flower...
I am also, 1 1/2 hours north of Salmon, ID....
The mountains are herein the BV.
I hunt pheasants up near Choteau, MT, Northwestern part of the state...

Its sad I didn't get to see more of the state during my visit.
This place has its beauty but the weather sucks.

Steph,

I tried to post something here but couldn't get it to copy/paste so sent it in an emali.  Hope you received it and enjoyed it.  If you can figure out how to get it to post, I'm sure others would get a "kick" out of it.

Hmm, I have video somewhere of my bitch swimming in water she broke the ice off of to get to, with 5 inches of snow on the ground. She will shake and shiver but wont get out of the water no matter how much you yell at her. She lays in it for Christ sake.

I will be moving to NW MT ASAP, maybe as soon as a year and a half hopefully. For sure beautiful country, GOD'S country. I LOVE it up there and I'm sure my dogs will enjoy it too.

Got it Deb, Thanks, I have seen that one lots, I will try to copy and paste...
Steph

Hey 4pack I hear ya....I wouldn't live anywhere else...my irrigation pond in my back yard is so cold, I tried washing my hair in it when I first moved here and didn't have water....my head froze immediately....went numb...that is how cold the water is and stays that way all year...my GSD's and even my Brittany, swim all day in it, I think the Britt has a screw loose though. He swims circles for hours....
