How is it possible for anyone to send anyone a Cheque for money when they do not know your  bank details or postal address unless you give it to them, Only stupid greedy people do that, I get these Scams in the mailbox weekly wanting to buy my Puppies,I have  never bred a Pup let alone sell them in 60 years of keeping them
The genuine enquiry i  had  to buy my 11 week old Pup Izzy was last Thursday evening at the Training Club, a Guy wanted to buy her for a good price, I said she is not for sale, now or later, a pity he said she has that something  special in her and that was it,
But delete any thing to do with buying your dogs from Strangers certainly on the web, they do not even know if you own dogs most the time it is a hoax, i cannot understand how people can be caught out by this rubbish

Steve1:   They get their info off your classified ads in the new paper where you advertise your pups...A lot of people have websites with address...No they don't mail it until they rope you in....they ask you to give them the mailing address because they want to buy your pup.,...and will send money....ok   you ask some questions..and they sound legit.....REMEMBER THESE ARE CON ARTISTS...THEY KNOW HOW TO CONVINCE PEOPLE....

They get the info and ask when can the pup be picked up?????ok  they get the address then hit you with the BOMB>>>OH  I want to send you a mo or cashiers ck for 3, 500.00 dollars and you cash it and repay me only 1,900.00 and keep the rest and my currier will come pick up the pup next  SAT....etc......so people falL  for it.....they deposit the check   right a check or buy a mo or cashiers ck....mail it to the scammer who conviently gives you an address and phone number...yeah he is on the other end of a phone..in a no name building that is evacuated in 3 days.....that is when they move...  to another town....and the check you deposited is NO GOOD>>>>FORGERY  made up checks...if you had ask the bank first.....you would find out...they know a false check ///bogus numbers and money mark...watermarks are not there.....they can tell .....ask a BANK DIRECTOR   NOT A YOUNG CLERK ,,,,WET BEHIND THE EARS...GET MY DRIFT..?

YES YOU ARE THE FOOL THAT GIVES THEM YOUR ADDRESS AND FALLS  FOR IT...THAT IS WHY WE HAVE THIS INFO ALL OUT HERE....TRYING TO MAKE INNOCENT NOT SO UP TO DATE PEOPLE WHO SELL DOGS, MONKEYS, DONKEYS, PARROTS, CATS OR KANGAROOS....IN THE NEWPAPER OR OFF THE INTERNET AND DO NO HAVE BUSINESS SENSE......

Y.R
No problem, it will never happen to me anyway
But i will add this bit, anyone who breeds Pups and has a problem selling them in my book should not be breeding them in the first place
A good genuine breeder, never has a problem selling the Pups they breed, in fact many i know have a waiting list for pups, and the people have to wait and i know one guy has for two years now been waiting for the breeding he wants and now soon he will get his wish

I did not fall for this scam either.

I don't mind keeping a pup I can't sell. I had several potiential buyers but didn't make the sale because I did not feel comfortable with the potiential buyer.

I just wanted to share this scammer with the board. Guess like before, someone has to take the point of the post and turn it inside out.. Make it something other than what it's purpose was intended.

Guess things will never change. Just got to sort out, the good, the bad, and the ugly!

That is a typical scam in the horse world as well. Someone sent me a cashiers check for $3500, for a saddle... wanted me to send the extra back. I still have the check...I talked to the district attorney and the FBI and they said they couldn't do anything unless the amount is over $10,000...
Don't fall for these scams....IF IT SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE IT IS!!!!

Steph is Right!

This has been going on now for over 2 years. the Nigerian scammers. they keep a check on all kinds of advertising. not just pups for sale but all sorts of things, horses, deer, elk,  and just about anything else that can be advertised. They also just go through websites even if that website isn't running a classified ad somewhere.
I am glad you didn't fall for it!!!

They actually got some horse people for their horse and the money. I never could figure out why anyone would do that because someone they don't know says they will pay more for something than is being asked for it. That  is just nuts...
So they do actually send someone after some of the things they want. Since these don't seem to show up anywhere, maybe they send them back overseas or consume them here...
I do know of some that actually fell for this scam.   I think it has something to do with greed.
I have also been contacted on occasion within days of running an ad. (Mostly internet ads) e-mail very similiar to what has been listed in luvdemdogs and nonacona60.
My reply to them:  I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TRYING TO PULL, BUT I DON'T DO BUSINESS THIS WAY!!
Never heard back from them...

YR is right, they are not interested in your dog or whatever else you have to sell.  They will pick up on anything, and try and get you to send them money.  I have had it happen to me when I posted on a local board selling  a motorcycle and a car.  Their spelling and poor grammar is a giveaway.  Glad you didn't fall for it, many do apparently, especially the scam where they want  a place to put their dead grandmother's inheritance, preferably your bank account.  Sometimes greed makes some gullible!
