Liesjers,
Thank you for taking my comment the way it was intended, as a "funny ha ha wink wink big smile" not "slam". Thanks for thinking Loki is nice looking, he's my big dog and knows it. He has been nicknamed "Psycho Einstein" by my trainer and newbie decoys that weren't paying attention when working him. Not a mean bone in his body, just super smart and with an evil twisted sense of humor, he is a trip to work. He has slowed down some with age, he is more dignified than butt kicking. LOL
I understand the other end as well, I have a little 60 lb soaking wet girl that dynamite. She is so darned intense. But she is also my "lap dog" if I let her. (can't seem to load pictures this time which is probably just as well tee hee hee).
In looking at all the GSDs in just my group of friends, I am blown away by the difference in body styles. From my big dog, to a roach back with hind end tucked under so far it looks like it hasn't recovered from a kick to the butt, to a dog that walks on its back legs from toe to hock and has a narrow pointy head. I could go on about the size differences and each of them has a different and distinct personality with all the quirks. We do have fun with our dogs.......................LOL

many people left because the got tired of the bickering and name calling and threats....................not because a dog was "roached backed" or "bananna backed" or "straight backed"
Lets not go there again

RedS, I did quote her correctly - read her post again: roach back...worst being American show lines...THEN she said the same applies to over angulation. Whatever she meant, that's what she SAID. If she didn't mean it then she shouldn't have said it. All we have on the internet are the actual words people type, so it behooves all of us to be clear. The OP only backtracked when called out on her lack of knowledge of ASL.
I actually thought it was nice that posters reacted by telling her rather calmly she didn't know what she was talking about regarding ASL.
Rik and SitasMom, I agree with you both - good thread, don't muck it up!

Rik,
you could probably stack that pup a whole lot better. they should have put a better pic of him on when
they were advertising, he has a very nice pedigree

mirasmom, I got the same "ouch" factor looking at that dog. He looked very uncomfortable.
I know there is a "roach" factor in S/L. My point is that having attended several shows in the past year (including Sieger shows in Germany and the U.S.) these dogs with the extreme roach are not at the front of the classes.
I like discussions like these because it's possible to learn quite a bit from people willing to share from their experience. Just wish it didn't always end up in a whizzing contest.

Rik,
Speaking of whizzing contests......"wink wink, giggle".......my first station captain gave his view on whizzing contests. He said "if you think your going to get into a (whizzing) contest, ask yourself 2 questions, who much (whiz) do you have and how good are you at treading water. If you do decide to enter, make sure you are on the highest ground".
