No I haven't read it, but thanks, Beetree, I'll pick that up next time I hit the library.

I wonder how many of our wonderful leaders (Presidents and Vice-Presidents, etc) ever really read Sun-Tzu and the Art of War ?????

Beetree, I have read those books and they are good, especially A Thousand Splendid Suns. The part about the flamingo paintings was true per families I have talked to, the birds (storks as well) were even "executed" for being immodest (their long legs were uncovered).

I have talked with families that have escaped the Ayatollah's regime (ok dating myself), the Taliban and other extremist religious and non-religious regimes. Most common thing among them is to downgrade women, artists, scientists and scholars to less valuable then a dead goat. It's not just the Islamic religion, I grew up in an area that had an extremist Christian cult living not too far away and that had many of the same views about their new world order ideal.

When any belief system is taken to the extreme that others are subjegated through violence, fear, oppression in the name of that fanatical belief, its evil.

History channel did a whole show on the "mysteries of the freemasons" , and there are no big freaking' earthquaking revelations about any of their surreptitious ceremonies, and you waste your time believing all that Illuminati crap, too. Angels and Demons is coming out in a theatre near you, fun fiction, that.

Ugly, you aren't a fan of pragmatism, are you? Who cares who trained the Taliban at this point, the point is they need to be destroyed, or the very least, decimated.

Why do you ignore the immediate threat of the Taliban in favor of say, your personal quest for righting the wrongs of the past, in the pursuit of justice, (as if it was your God given duty?)

by beetree on 15 May 2009 - 19:05

Ugly, I knew you'd have a name for me, lol! And you didn't attempt to give any answers, just some off-the-wall quote by some Rabbi. Funny about that Dupe business, it does seem to go both ways. Do you see yourself as prophetic? Or merely, extraordinarily astute amongst the undeserved and moronic masses? Why in the world would you, or any sane person defend the Taliban? They destroy more than opium fields; that comes low on my priority list if you want to describe Afghanistan before the Taliban takeover to the one defaced by these criminals.

Mindhunt, thanks for sharing that! I was quite moved by A Thousand Splendid Suns as well. It makes you want to cry for such senseless, yes, EVIL destruction of everything that makes the Afghanistan people, art and culture.

Pulitzer Prize Journalist of New Yorker, Seymour Hersh says the US government has videotapes of boys being Sodomized at Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq.
July 14, 2004

"The worst is the soundtrack of the boys shrieking," the reporter told an ACLU convention last week. Hersh says there was "a massive amount of criminal wrongdoing that was covered up at the highest command out there, and higher."

(Hersh starts at about 1:07:50.)
He called the prison scene "a series of massive crimes, criminal activity by the president and the vice president, by this administration anyway, war crimes."

The outrages have cost us the support of moderate Arabs, says Hersh. "They see us as a sexually perverse society."
Hersh describes a Pentagon in crisis. The defense department budget is in incredible chaos, he says, with large sums of cash missing, including something like $1 billion that was supposed to be in Iraq.

"The disaffection inside the Pentagon is extremely accute," Hersh says. He tells the story of an officer telling Rumsfeld how bad things are, and Rummy turning to a ranking general yes-man who reassured him that things are just fine. Says Hersh, "The Secretary of Defense is simply incapable of hearing what he doesnt want to hear."

The Iraqi insurgency, he says, was operating in 1-to-3 man cells a year ago, now in 10-15 man cells, and despite the harsh questioning, "we still know nothing about them...we have no tactical information.

He says the foreign element among insurgents is overstated, and that bogeyman Zarqawi is "a composite figure" hyped by our government.
The war, he says, has escalated to "fullscale, increasingly intense military activity."
Hersh described the folks in charge of US policy as "neoconservative cultists" who have taken the government over, and show "how fragile our democracy is."

He ripped the supine US press, pledged to bring home all the facts he could, said he was not sure he could deliver all the damning info he suspects about Bush administration responsibility for Abu Ghraib.'

Off The Wall Quotes beetree?
'Freemasonry is a Jewish establishment, whose history, grades, official appointments, passwords and explanations are Jewish, from beginning to end. "
-Rabbi Isaac Wise

"Masonry is based on Judaism.
Eliminate the teaching of Judaism from the Masonic ritual and what is left?"
-The Jewish Tribune of New York, October 28th 1927

Pragmatism you ask?
We Create Death Squads, Overthrow democracies, Create Thug Dictatorships after staging coups or back groups like the Taliban, as done in Iran in '53, Guatemala in '54, Brazil in '64, Indonesia in '65, Greece in '67, Chile in '73, Dominican Republic, Haiti and They are just the democracies since WWII,  that are on the official record.
There are 20+ other countries I wont name.

Indonesia was particularly awful, because the CIA & English MI6 sent death lists to Suharto to help him slaughter around 600,000 people, the CIA also paid a group called 'Kap Gestapu' to orchestrate a fake Communist coup to justify the slaughter.
You excuse your own sick Zionist English Gioverment who invented the Concentration Camp and used it in the Boer War in South Africa, Killed tens of Millions in India and the crimes committed against the Catholics in Ireland are unspeakable.

And you have the gall to say I ignore threats?
Your ownZionist government and mine, Created these groups..and continues these Occupations today and is plotting yet other wars as I type this, their agents Slither all over the Mideast (Occupied Palestine) Syria, Lebanon, Iran and Pakistan specifically.

DAMN You and all you stand for.

JT, 4/1/03

TEL AVIV (AFP) Israeli Infrastructure Minister Joseph Paritzky wants to reopen the pipeline leading from the Iraqi city of Mosul to the Israeli port of Haifa after the end of the US-led war in Iraq, daily Haaretz said Monday.
Haaretz said Paritzky hoped the large Haifa refineries could be supplied with Iraqi oil.
He was convinced the US administration would favour the idea, Haaretz said.'

This is a Friend of mine protesting the ACLU, he refers to them as AntiChrist, Maggie. A Former Jew and now Christian Orthodox  convert.
He has some other  nice things to say about the Jewish ACLU on his web site.

Well, I'll be damned, alright! Though, I would say I stand for peace and equality, and the routing of the Taliban. Have a nice weekend Uglydog, (I'll be spending most my weekend sweating in the bleachers at swim meets.)
