Never heard of any such rule. WHERE is this published? I don't see it on the official website and it is NOT a USA rule. If there is an official phographer, the host club can enforce that, meaninhlg other PROFESSIONAL photogs are not allowed to compete for sales.

Judging by the rules that only the official photographer does all the picture taking, kinda sounds like the club is getting a cut of the old phorgrapher's take, don't it ?  Otherwise why can't people take photo's of there own dogs that have entered in the show there,  So in other words if want you a photo of your own dog, you have to BUY it from the official photographer.

Nah - those rules are normal, for official photographer to be the only photographer there who is SELLING their photos.  It doesn't say others can't take pictures or video - just that they can't stand directly in front of the podium, can't be IN the ring, and can't advertise or solicit sales for their pictures or videos.  It's the same with any trial.  You can stand off to the side for podium shots, or bring the dogs/handlers back after the awards ceremonies to stand on the podium for your own shots later - you can take pics and video from outside the rings as long as they are not for sale.  You can take whatever stacked or formal shots you want after the class, outside the ring.

from how i read it i take it that only the official photographer can be in the ring. as long as your outside of the ring taking pictures than this is ok. and you cant take photos and re-sell them. easy as that.

on the other hand. what do you all think of if some1 could do a live stream for the next SS?(for  bitework and mabey even the ring) any input on this?

anyone know what happened during Ronaldo vom Zellergrund performance test?  I was told by someone there that he should have failed, along with a few other males.  just curious as to what happened as everyone talks about how well he works.  not wanting to start into politics or arguements, but just wondering how an experienced helper/handler would say something like that without it having some standing to it.

I sure hope someone was making a video of the protection. That way everyone will see that based on what I saw on video from last year and what I saw live this year, unfortunately NOTHING has changed as far as how the dogs are being judged.

One female literally ran off the field twice and got a 3rd chance to restart and guess what......she passed!!.  Lots of really nervy females hanging on by a tooth and after outing backed away from the helper, looked around nervously for their handler to come to their aid. Unless a dog blatently came off with a stick hit, they were passed, handlers were handed their pink  pronounced or sufficient paper, raised it in the air in victory $$$$   and were cheered by the crowd.  What a great new generation of GSD's we can expect.....

Males were generally better but lots fussing with their bellies 3 inches from the ground and grips for the most part were bad.  Not as awful as the females but lots of gifts were given IMO.

Watched the protection practice  which was quite interesting. Handlers had their time on the field  to get their dogs used to the helpers of course. Seemed quite a few used the time to try and fix problems. One in particular comes to mind but I guess the handler does not realize that you cannot fix temperament and her dog earned an insufficient in the bitework since she came off the sleeve with a stick hit and ran from the helper. Another handler comes to mind telling the helpers over and over "no pressure, no pressure"

Helper work was good I thought.

During the awards ceremony many of the females were darting around wide eyed looking spooked. Generally, the males looked better.

Both of the only workingline dogs entered in the show were awarded two of the six outstanding protection awards.

This was the first Sieger Show that I have attended and tried to look at things objectively.

I would like to say, amongst all the males doing  practice on field before the performance test, ORK was not one of them. His owner/handler did not reserve a spot on the practice field.    and he MIGHT have been worked in protection once the month leading up to the show.   truly an outstanding male.

why was some of these dogs given pronounced, let alone passed?

things need to def. change.  maybe the people who run the schutzhund org. over here need to be removed and replaced with people who can do a better job.
