RIP Heidi
I'm so very sorry, Steve.  It's so unexepected and such a shock  when something  completely out of left field happens with a pup.  I know you probably feel kicked in the stomach right now.  Sometimes life  just sucks.  Her little life may have been short, but it was good and she was happy while she was with you.

Steve,

I am so sorry about Heidi.  She was such a brilliant spark of life.  Here for such a short time, but such a bright light.  Now a star in Heaven.

Sorry for your loss,

Michele

Steve I am so sorry for your loss. I also lost a puppy just 8 weeks ago, he had an horriffic heart murmur and at only 7 weeks old I had to let him go, it was so hard to do, I brought him into the world and because of his condition I also had to see him leave it.
My thoughts are with you.

I too and very sorry for your loss. She was such a cute little fuzz ball. I also must have missed it, as I have no idea what happened to her. Again I am very sorry for you loss.

Sorry for your loss, Steve.  We lost a darling boy in November, after spending only 10 weeks with him, so I understand what you are going through.

At the time, my five-year old daughter was a little shocked and confused to see her family distraught and grieving - this was something new to her.  She dealt with it in the best way she knew - the same way she was comforted when she lost something precious to her.

She very gently came to me, hugged me and said "It's OK mommy, we'll get a new Dexter".  We had used the same line on her in the past, and obviously it was a comforting thought for her, but the realisation at that moment was that the statement is so blatantly fickle and shallow.  We vowed never again to appease the little person in this way, and tried to explain that there would never be "another" Dexter.

Perhaps in time we will get another puppy, but he will live only in our hearts forever more.   The same applies to your Heidi - she came into your life for a reason, to teach you something.  Find out what that was, and use it as best you can to grow from the experience.  Short as it was, her arrival and sudden departure happened for a reason.

Our thoughts are with you.
