i think it is cruel to the animal to have them OVERWEIGHT. (better???) :))))

I think Caleb was darn near that at that age. I'm trying to remember. I know that people thought he was adult at 6 mos. The pic in my avatar is him at only 7 mos. If I remember correctly, he was about 16lbs at 8 weeks, and about 50lbs at 16 weeks. By 7-8 mos, he was in the high 70's. He is a 105lb dog if I didn't keep him so thin. He's 26.5" high, almost 27", and actually weighs about 95lbs, I'm guessing. Haven't weighed him a few mos and he fluctuates a bit...like his mom, lol. I'd say MVF was pretty right on w/that chart, although some dogs grow faster and quit sooner, like my little female. She really hasn't grown since 6 mos...though she was a big puppy.

Thanks, Harley. That pic was taken at my Dad's July 4, 2004; he was born Dec. 11, 2003. It was sometimes hard to remember how young he still was b/c he looked (and usually acted) so grown up. I sometimes had to take a deep breath and count to ten, LOL!
It sounds like your boy will be similar in size. A lot of this weight is bone. It certainly doesn't sound like you have him overweight. My little female was guessed to weigh 15 lbs by the vet techs at 3 mos. She weighed 29lbs....all BONE!

i did take new ones today. he is just too cute my camera is sitting on my desk. i can't wait until he gets that big beautiful adult look. i will have 10,000 pictures of him. you can tell he's my first Black GSD
