I am currently involved in prosecuting an animal cruelty/hoarding case where over 200 dogs, primarily of one breed, were recently seized. The initial photos and videos of the dogs were interpreted by many in the public as not looking too bad. The breed is coated, and as such, physical conditions can be misleading. However, once the charging documents were published, it seemed to shed some of the issues that caused law enforcement to become involved for the public.
