So... have you done your bit, Bancroft & emailed?

The reason you can relax about Haemophilia testing Bancroft is because breeders... show breeders, used testing and selective breeding to largely oust it in the 80's and 90's.  It should still be tested for IMO and good breeders do still test!

Show dogs are generally, extremely fit... some may not like what they do, but they are fit, they have to be, so the AD test would not be a problem, show breeders are very used to getting their dogs fit.

Are you with us then, Bancroft?

bancroft in your last post you said

Haemophilia - JMHO a waste of money, how rare is this!? But no strong objections  this disease is rare now because of testing and selective breeding it is not as yet been bred out so it is still very important to test male offspring for this disease

so it is anything but a waste of money and if not kept in check can be rife in the breed very quickly all it takes is 1 popular stud who is a haemophiliac then boom back to square 1 all ethical breeders should continue to test their males.

Please don't condemn all other countries'  hip and elbow scoring system out of hand.  Most have to PROVE  - via tattoo or Microchip -the identity of the dog being Xrayed .  In the UK it is perfectly possible for a "ringer" to be used - the KC STILL  does not insist on the identity of the dog being checked and accepts the word of an owner that the dog presented is the dog whose pedigree is presented.

Plus in Germany at least it is possible for any old Tom, Dick or Harry to find out hip and elbow status & ZW (Breed worth) of any given dog.  Not a perfect system - none is - but a lot more transparent  than what we have.  Incidentally the SV does NOT accept the BVA/KC scoring system, as they do not believe it covers all aspects (i.e. Morgan line), which is why we HAVE to use the SV system if we want to show over there.  They DO accept the Italian & French system & possibly the Belgian one I think.  There have been horror stories in the past about abuse by German stud dog owners, but I do believe these issues have been addressed by the SV in recent years.  Because it gives a fuller picture the ZW in particular can throw up anomalies as I understand it.
