Is this pedigree even real? A lot of the dogs on the pedigree don't even have a registeration number so I'm questioning whether or not this pedigree is even authentically real.
What was the breeder thinking?

THATS IT,,,, its an imaginary pedigree for GARDS new pound puppy. at least thats the type of pedigree i would make up for my new dog.
4pack,,,, titles,,, we dont need no stinking titles,,,,lol,,,,besides its a mali, gsd people dont get upset about other breeds, just there own. didnt you read that in your owners manual, or did chris not send you one?

Nia, I'm sure what you want to know from me? I ain't got the skills of Bruce. I only have two comments and Hexe said one perfectly:
Well, if nothing else, this breeding should have uncovered any genetic issues and brought them to the forefront...While breeding this close does make most folks shudder, there are people who specifically will do such a breeding in order to discover what lies within the genes, good and bad. Such breeders generally expect to cull pups at birth and any time thereafter, which is something most people don't have the stomach for doing.
My other comment...Does it do the work?

Christopher,
don't tell me that you lurk on the gsd-eruo list, too? What, are we "cheap entertainment" for ya?

Why does it say one sibling on her page but when you click on siblings it says none? Is she her own sister too.
Come on GARD, give us a hint. You admitted you did a hurry job entering the data and are still researching titles.

The parents are actually 3/4 siblings as they have the same dam, and the grandsires are 1/2 brothers at least... Definately closely inbred. If all dogs involves are super in every respect might have been done to "fix" traits, but there had to be a better way with the size of the Mal genetic pool to achieve those results, unless it was just cheaper to breed to the brother than to pay for a studfee.

Actually John that is not out of the question. esp if it's the male I am thinking about I have two breedings in mind for this dog in the future. Number one on the list is fozen semen, number two is a heafty stud fee and a flight all the way accross the country. i need to make sure the pipes work before I go spending that kind of money.
I am not trying to play with people's heads I just can't believe with all the genetic guru's here nobody has brought it up. Maybe some people don't think it is significant but I do.
Ok it is a tight breeding. If we accept that and think outside that box, what else is there about the genetics? The lines, the bloodlines, that all I here from GSD people. What is it about the lines?
All the breeders and genetic guru's out there............
maybe some are dismissing it but from a genetic and future breeding standpoint I think it is very significant, actually two things but one I think would stand out if you are thinking in a purley gentic mindset. Even if it is not what I am thinking of maybe someone sees somthing I don't.
I would love to hear more opinions on the pedigree beyond the fact that it is tight. I'm gonna let it ride until tomorrow. Not trying to mess with anyone's heads, but this and some other recent threads have had good indight from some of the people who have been missing lately.
