Jasmine, I don't have any really nice pictures of my dogs butt, so I'll have to take one tomorrow and post it for you!

Rainhaus,
I alway's had a dog, but got my first pony and my first GSD at about the same time, 9 or 10 years old I can't remember.
Got a real horse not long after that , the pony would roll over on me..LOL At thirteen or so I bred a mare with my dad's prized walker and raised my first horse from there. I broke and trained her and rode her everywere until I got a car at 16.
A few year's later she had a foal at the time, I sold her to a friend who took her from Indiana to Illinois. He rode her with a colt in tow. They would not let them cross the toll bridge at the Wabash river so Don, the Mare, and her colt swam the wabash river into Illinois. She would do anything for me, Jump, swim with me aboard, run along side car's and truck's down the side of the highway. I could shoot from her back and she would grab the back of my jean's wanting to be saddled and rode. The only thing bad was I would tie her at a friend's house and if it was time to go home and I wasn't out yet she would pull loose and go home without me... a long walk home for me..LOL She had her trick's too, kicking on comand, rare up the same, and spin. The GSD Duchess would play chase with her and alway's managed to grab a bit of tail without getting her head kicked off. They were buddy's too.
All in all we had six horse's and two dog's during this time. Plus the cow's chicken's rabbit's and cat's. Oh and my pigeon's. I loved that horse, she liveds to have one more colt after I sold her. I don't remember when she died.
Duchess died at ten year's old.
You be good to that boy.
Brent.

Brent, Thanks for sharing that history.Must have been a good "Flash back" for you.I enjoyed. What about the pigeons???? Give thought.I never had my own dog.My family had a poodle...and the rest of the family as well.I would sneak "Pierre" to the elementary school acrosst the street and train him to climb and slide etc.The previous home(house) we lived at I would venture by myself and watch the gsds in training for leading the blind. When I couldn't sneak Pierre out anymore at the elementary school.A young woman whom was an elder to me crosst my path there. She was such a free spirit and she was walking her gsd.Hippies were so frowned upon in those days.I told her my story. She said that I could walk her gsd at anytime and do anything I wanted with him.I asked her the name of her gsd...It was simply "dog".Well then I started sneaking to this hippies house and "Dog" and I had much fun. What a smart boy he was.We moved again and it wasnt until I was in 9th grade until I got my first gsd...Hans.He had to be put down at 4 yrs of age.I had no choice in the matter. My parents couldnt pay his vet bills.I'll never forget that day.I carried him to the vets office(4 miles). When he was put down so was "Dog".I had always wanted a horse..in short I used to get a ride to Wickam Park with Hans and watch all the people with horses just riding and showing them in the arena.Hans and I would visit the horses that were abused and left alone and just spark their day.A little tail tugging but they were friends. My riding was done there but not in showing.Lets just say..Just being with the horse as one. Many yrs later I finally purchased my own horse.I gave her to a family that was going to use her to help a daughter that they had adopted that had been sexually abused. What a scam that was..she was sold for money!!! So much for trust.I hunted "Tiny" down and the last I heard she was missing an eye but was in a good and loving home.Brent there are some gsds that can bond with a horse and some cant.I have to laugh..at the BIG DOGS that are creating dvds about this and laughing all the way to the bank. The same ones selling the idea that a prong collar is the only way. etc etc.I will take care of this boy.His name is Little man(17 yrs old). His mom was a throwaway and had him when she was 18.In her history before she was given to me before the glue factory or being taken to mexico to have that spike/knife put in her neck repeatedly on a truck because there isnt processing plants anymore in the USA for horse meat anymore...She Shellys Star had 3 colts and one filly.I am fortunate that she came to me for the only colt(gelding) that would survive...and he has been raised in a natural way...NOT stalled. No fluff fluff certain foods..additives etc.If I had to cross a river..we would together as a perfect poem.Sorry for my rattling folks.Progesterone(sp) comes from what??Over many decades..still now.Mares(F) are bred to just produce this source of hormone. What happens to the baby colts and fillies they have once the product is manufactured? How many women are so misinformed that they have to take this?Just another scheme of sales...to promote another illness. In ref to the original person that started the Off Topic thread.Thank you for starting it.I hold no degrees.I am a professional at nothing.I care not to hang a sign and go with the flow of people that have tunnel vision.Brent, It doesnt matter when you know when she died.It matters to know all that you and she shared.By remembering her..she knows. She is an angel on your shoulder for having talked about her..Same with Duchess.Thank you.
