I read recently that Indianapolis Police Department is now done with affirmative action.

They have had their share of problems,  with lesser qualified applicants,  who turned out to be thugs on the Force committing criminal acts.

I suspect more will follow..affirmative action can be seen for what it is, a Joke. Judge someone based on merit & most qualified, not skin color.  

For many..affirmative action is now reverse racism.

More often than not,the thugs on the force are white officers who not only commit a variety of criminal acts,but who also abuse,and KILL minorities! Has nothing to do with AA. With regard to it being "reverse racism" that is not at all logical,because if it were really " reverse" racism,then by definition,the perpetrators of said "reverse racism" would have to be people of color! Not rocket science. If we were to judge based on merit....true merit,alot of whites( like good ole George W.) would'nt be in the positions they are in. No one has ever claimed that people of color do not commit criminal acts,of course they do.Just like EVERYONE ELSE! It's just that when people of color do illegal things,their "race" is front and center for the discussions that follow. Interestingly,this does'nt seem to be the case for whites. I wonder why?

I dont have the stats available. But as stated. Indianaopolis discontinued Affirmative Action. It was their Black Officers that were their undoing.   I read the reports & crimes committed.

Proportionately, I will venture a guess and say that Black officers probably are involved in more Police crime but again I have no stats to prove or make a case. I dont care really.  Crime should not be tolerated & it applies to all cops, black or white.

But I do care that otherwise more qualified applicants-WHITES-are being passed over (see story below of a white candidate)  for some less qualified Black & Minority applicants ie Women & Hispanics. And that IS Reverse Discrimination by any definition. You just hate to call it what it is.

Police reject candidate for being too intelligent

A US man has been rejected in his bid to become a police officer for scoring too high on an intelligence test.

Robert Jordan, a 49-year-old college graduate, took an exam to join the New London police, in Connecticut, in 1996 and scored 33 points, the equivalent of an IQ of 125.

But New London police interviewed only candidates who scored 20 to 27, on the theory that those who scored too high could get bored with police work and leave soon after undergoing costly training.

Mr Jordan launched a federal lawsuit against the city, but lost.

The 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New York upheld a lower court’s decision that the city did not discriminate against Mr Jordan because the same standards were applied to everyone who took the test.

He said: “This kind of puts an official face on discrimination in America against people of a certain class. I maintain you have no more control over your basic intelligence than your eye color or your gender or anything else.”

He said he does not plan to take any further legal action and has worked as a prison guard since he took the test.

Lerner...Its the tactics used I question more than skin color, but certainly revere racism is a problem, as is quotas & Reverse discrimination.

Our police forces are now trained by the Jewish ADL. And the reason they are militarized & many use thug tactics.

    That is one officer who has been "aggrieved" by a policy that did'nt serve it's intended purpose as well as it could have.
     Unfortunate? Sure,but I have a question for you.What is it called when a lower scoring white person gets a position that should have gone to a "more qualified" white person,of the same gender?

Regarding your comment that this is reverse discrimination....no . I called it EXACTLY what it is! Reverse discrimination is a false concept that entered the national lexicon(in the USA) in 1978 after the Bakke decision.....I presume you are familiar with the case?  It is again,that zero sum argument put forth by many whites whereby anytime a minority/woman gets ANYTHING,they must have "stolen" it visa-vis AA by an "inherently" more 'DESERVING" OR "QUALIFIED" white male.

So is your position,then,that everything should only be controlled by white men? Qualified,or not? Again,reference George W. Bush. Clearly not qualified for his job,but has it nonetheless.

Whites passed over for lesser whites?  How about Favoritism or Nepotism.  Thats what I call it, because that is what it is.   I abhor it as well as reverse discrination we see practiced now in many agencies & Companies, Quotas to make things 'fair" as diversity is our strength..
