Nia, what about Heidi's Obi-Wan?

 What about him?

I thought he was declared for Uni as well?

 And?   Did I miss his name in a trial result somewhere?    Maybe it is time for me to have some tea and an afternoon cookie, but I don't understand why you raise Obi specifically.     

Well, I really don't think Heidi would declare unless she intended to enter.  My bet, she will make the requirement.

The cookie is a good idea. Think I'll have one too.   When I lived for a spell in Ottawa, my co-workers called me Cookies and Beer Connie.

Let me attempt to make this clear one more time.  The dogs were declared and then...nothing.  As you are fully aware, I  am good friends with the owners of one of the declared dogs.  And, you know I think the world of the owner/handler. But...  That does not change the facts, either. 

I hope that you are right about  Heidi and I wish her well on any follow-through.    It would be nice to have more than just one little entry from the PNW at the nationals.  As this region has the only area (the I-5 Corridor) where people can and do train year-round,  the same area from which the Canadians can field 5/6 of an entire World Team,  the area with the best tracking all year long, MAX knows we should have numbers at the nationals!!!   This is in such sharp contrast to Pia's region, where they have a REAL winter and can't train all year, that I think I  am just going to go have a couple of cookies and a bag of potato chips, or two... 

There are 4 regionals left:

8/29-8/31:  ME in Cinci

9/5-9/7:       New England in NH

9/20-9/21:   NorthEast in PA

10/3-10/5:   North Central in WI

seeing how you like the idea, if the issue should come up at the general board meeting this fall, feel free to use it.  im not sure if i will be able to make it.  

that would give everyone 10 months ( jan-oct) to get the 270, go to a regional,  compete at nationals.  then they have approx. 5 months(nov-march) to get ready for the sieger show.   

i like the idea of having a declaration in writing.  make it due as the deadline for nationals.

to me if someone really wants the title of Universal Sieger,  they would really have to put forth the effort to make it.

I just checked the website for some of those regionals.  One of them will have the regional trial on the hotel grounds.  Looking at that "virtual tour"  MY GOD, I wish we had something like that in Washington!!   Talk about convenient!! Beautiful grounds, too. 

When is Jerry Wolfe going to create a Triple Ground in the PNW.... <sigh>

does not look vanilla neutral to me Nia  but  that is only my opinion.

I agree that misleading declarations should be avoided
