In Alaska, the salmon here do not have the Salmon poisoning issues. I have fed alaska salmon to my dogs raw, after being frozen for a long while. I also feed other raw fish which has been frozen for a long while. No issues with doing this for the last four years. I know that when I do have the raw salmon to feed the dogs, they glow with good health.

I also raw feed and give previously frozen, or canned, alaskan salmon, mackeral, or sardines, and tuna as an occassional treat too. Both of mine like it and it adds some more variety to their diet.

I raw feed here too.
Same as been said by others, freeze for 2-3 weeks...same goes with pork
Careful on the salmon.
Mine get catfish, whitefish, sardines, and makeral and anything else I can find with the locals....yummm yummm
LOL...hey Steve.....you mean....? Are you sure?.....The DOGS aren't supposed to eat better than the HUMAN? No-way? LOL

Hey Anita, that is what my husband says...he says the dogs eat better than he does and I make sure that their diet is more nutritionally sound than our own! LOL Veronica

I am a RAW feeder. I feed a canned mackeral when I forget to thaw breakfast. As far as fresh fish it is my understanding you shouldn't feed raw pacific coast saminoid types (salmon, trout, & ?) because they can carry a parasite that can be deadly to dogs (like Gunnar said).
