Come on the last time we had oil shortage was late 70's when Jimmy Carter was President. No dem or rep president nor has congress done anything to develop an effective energy policy over the last 40 years.  Like I said before I hope people keep blaming others for the energy problems of today cause you are ensuring the oil industry will make lots of money for a long time to come.   To be honest I hope prices stay up as this is helping my pocketbook!

We need a effective energy policy that promotes and opens up drilling. Keep developing alternative energies, cut usage all we can and still protect the environment.   Anything less and prices will continue to esculate.  Flexfuels are part of the answer but are driving up the price of food and really hurting poor people and poor countries. At the current rate within 6 years 50% of the corn produced in the USA will go to produce fuel and you see the price of food go so high we will all have to go on diets regardless if we want to or not.

But if we keep blaming Bush or some dead ex-president nothing will get done and nothing will improve, sad to see Americans have lost their drive to be the best in the world. If we keep electing the same people to congress who think giving pretty speeches ; threatning oil companies and threatning to sue Opec is going to fix the problem then Americans will get what they deserve, what you sow you will reap!

Reality is we have no alternative to OIL at this time that is capable of reducing the global demand period! When someone does comes up with the solution you will not have to give it government subsidies as the market will demand it, subsidies are for ineffective programs that will never survive on their own as they are not cost effective.

Wake up America and lets get to work and fix the problem, enough cheap talk!

There was an oil shortage in 1973 & in the 1970s because the USA under Nixon, interceded in Israels' Losing war, the Yom Kippur war.

Oil was $3 a barrel in 1973.   It went to over $32 a barrel as a result in subsequent years for Nixons defying the US Constitution. . OPEC Embargo was the result in intervening in foreign wars that dont concern us. We get no oil from Israel.

Israel is a Terrorist, Apartheid State, We should De Nuke that nation & cut all ties. Reparation for the USS LIBERTY attack & their recent Spying on Us through AIPAC.

Oil is up 40% in 2 months.  It was $100 a barrell in April.  It is now $140 in June.   THis Is NOT a Supply issue.  Everyone knows thins but the Retarded Desert Fool.     Todays oil price is related to a Crumbling Dollar & Speculators.  Goldman Sachs & Morgan Stanley own maavie amounts through futures contracts.  Sabre rattling on the part of Israel is driving up oil &  moved it $11 in one day 2 weeks ago..

Think  Oil is expensive now?  Wait until that craphole of a nation (Israel) with its psychopaths running it, attacks Iran.  Gas will be $15 a gallon. Martial Law will be enacted & your 18 year old daughters will be on the Draft list to fight for Israel.

Yes, we have alternate energy. They arent being brought to market...Oil companies are making record profits off of us. Californians in San Diego  are driving TO Mexico to fill up.  Price is only $2.25 per gallon for the same gas.

I hate to inform all but Ugly Dog has hit the nail on the Ivory or Gold head...He is right on the target and he does know what he is talking about....This is his profession people,,,he not only trains a great gsd, but he deals with these Oil futrues ever day and the speculation is what is killing us.....The foreigners are laughing in their bank accounts at us...and our government just keeps shaking their ever loving hands.....

Why are all the foreign countries buying up all of our resoursces and sending us back the scraps....Look at the way Diesel is being done....its is senseless.

Digging in Alaska is not gonna solve it....We should have been digging and get off the import list many years ago...we are the robot and all the foreign countries are using an electric switch to turn us around and around and one day soon.....they will have their number stamped on our brain.

There is a new plant called  jATHROPA  is being looked at here in the usa and is being farmed at big plantings as we type this...but the price of it will go high sky just like the corn and soy have skyrocketed because of India and China and the foreign markets...

The subsidies that are being gouged from us to the tune of 300 million Dollars in 2007 into the biodiesel market and the scam that that market is doing to us is senseless..

There are plans to be a trade war by the foreign marketers very soon over this subsity and it is a never ending war over soy, corn  and now Jathropa....

Drilling should have been done long ago...and now we are in a war over soy ,corn and our lying congress and our lying government.

The market rules us not to be corrected overnight. There are 171 biodiesel plants sitting idle because they cant afford the sky rocketed price of soy or corn and the subsity that is paid to the foreignes not US plants or kept here in our own country.

It is about   No oil as the democrats have vetoed evey time the Anwar solution has been put before the congress to lift and go there...They are bound by the Ecologist and the lobbyists who have lied to Americans and say the Anwar would destroy the beautify country and ruin the live animals and the agriculture of a beautiful country , leave it alone...Now for the truth....Anwar is nothing but a desolate place with no beautiful  landscaping and a very perfect place to drill for what could produce enough oit for supply us for the next 30-40 years and get us out of Saudi Arabia...

The new drilling technology of drilling has gone to highly sophisticated Electromagnetic finding tools and this enables companies to find oil and gas reserves ,without the highly disruptival ways they use to destroy the land with..so the arguement that the cost and drilling destroys the earth is way behind the times.....They are still working on a very new technology to see thru the earth and electro magnatism tells where these resources are just like new medical technology can see now thru our bodies and even operate thru a tiney hole.

So now the Americans need to stand up to the lies we have been told and make congress get their acts together and let the Americans run the country and not their pocket books...All these congressmen have mega interest in oil and it cant be denied... How many billionaires are sitting in the seats in congress.   and you  dont want to pay over 3.00 a gallon for gasoline...Well get out your pen and tell your congress lady or man , you know they have been lying and get off their duffs and let Anwar be the next strike in the oil fields of America...This is just one step in the right direction...not the only one , but a beginning.
