Steve glad to hear Goran was ok- we had a similar attack 3 weeks ago by two beagles from down the street (again always running the neighbourhood) Once thought he was invincible - the other thought he could fly. Turned out the flight was only momentary (via boot) and the other felt his mortality watching the other hit the ground.
It's funny how so many owners of these little dogs have no issue letting them run, and funnier how savage these little ones can be in attacking other dogs.
My wife always carries bear spray when walking Kaiya - and thats a sad thing to have to do when you spend the time and effort to ensure your pet is well behaved and then you have people like that.
You should get proof of vacinations from this person. If they're not taking any responsibility for their pets actions I would be worried about their level of care for vacinations..

Dont know if you can get the sort of Sprays here you Guys talk about, I have never given it any thought before regards carrying anything,
Its difficult to use your Boot when your holding the Dog in one hand,
And one dog has hold of the Pup at the back end and the other at the front. at the same time
But both will be a bit sore now i expect
I dont suppose hitting a brick wall made it happy or a chop on the nose for the other one or side of the jaw in that area anyway, pity i had not got just a little lower
Still thats the way it is with some people with Dogs, they think no one else or there Dogs count
I told 'Goran' he has a small Fan Club in the USA

I've had similar problems where I live too. In fact the place we live at now, we are on the third floor of a triplex. When we moved in the people in number two below us had a female gsd. I would have loved for our dogs to be friends. Spunky was eight months old at the time and used to playing with other dogs. Every time number two let their dogs (gsd and a lab mix) out to potty, they were loose. Spunky was repeatedly attacked as I walked her and Nenz outside (Nenz just wanted to smell the neighbor's dog's butt).
They were still living here when Nenz died and we got Fluffy. I was afraid the same thing would happen again. Sure enough, one day my daughter and I were out walking our leashed dogs and as we came home, number two's gsd Layla came tearing around the corner and leaped onto Fluffy, who was 5 months old at the time and immediately started screaming in terror. The attack was so sudden my 5 year old daughter lost hold of the leash and Layla pinned Fluffy down, snarling and snapping at her.
I decided to break the leash law and let Spunky go. She let out a loud yell and jumped on Layla, hackles up and snarling. Layla was surprised and Spunky backed her all the way back up the steps to her door. Finally the owner came out and I told him I only let my dog go on his dog because his dog attacked our poodle. Since he wasn't drunk he was not confrontational, a surprise. He patted Spunky on the head and told his dog to make friends now. They recently moved and I must say I don't miss them as neighbors.
Fluffy was terrified of other dogs for a while and Spunky is suspicous of strange dogs after the attacks she endured as well. Fluffy is better now but I have to steer clear of other dogs when out, if Fluffy acts afraid, the Spunky goes nuts and wants to fight whoever Fluffy is scared of. Since Fluffy is a standard poodle, at 6 months she is already almost as big as Spunky but she is a wuss. When this attack happened, we had only had Fluffy for a few days and I was surprised at how protective Spunky was of her already.

I would walk somewhere else for a while.

Its okay to walk somewhere else, and the Dogs welfare is paramount we all know that
But what do we Dog people who control our Dogs do then,
We simply give way to those people who do not look after there Dogs, and the fact is then they are dictating as to what we can, and cannot do,When we have done nothing wrong
I do not intend changing my route for anyone, because it is along the main road and my reason for this is too acustom yjr Pup to Lorries , Tractors, and motorbikes, I like to sit him down and watch the traffic go by every morning fot five minutes
Both Our Dogs go the Opposite way on the route, we meet somewhere along it on a quiet country road, Fred the older one is told to AF 'down' one side of the road, Goran is told to do the same the opposite side of the road, they down for about five minutes then we go out own way, This happens every morning, and is good for both Dogs
If it happens to me again and i can see the Gates open, a little difficult until you get level with them, i will back track and take the Pup home then i will go to see the Farmer as soon as he comes in, if he is there so much the better, I will not be dictated to when i an not at fault and i will not hide or change to suit the likes of this fellow or anyone else

A man need never revenge himself for his own misdeeds, there are plenty of enemies waiting in the weeds for an exc use.
There are many paths to the top of the mountain, some honest and some by deception and con, and it is those which have a certain and swift path straight downward to the bottom.

Preston
I am not revenging myself at all. I just do not bow down to the likes of the Farmer because he thinks he can leave his gates open for his dogs to hassle and attack other dogs and people
I have my own form of justice if everything else fails, and it will not be a nice one, I do not think and i hope it will not come to that but if it does then so be it, I will not deviate from my training route that i have done for the last 15 months, not for the farmer or anyone else
Right or wrong thats the way it is, I have not caused any hassle to any other person or to any other Dog,
Nor have my Dogs its not me who is at fault
and it will not be me who will give way, only over my dead body will that ever happen, thats for sure
its easy to back down and turn the other cheek, i have done that many times in my life when i was young to save trouble , but it got me no where except more trouble, and why, because the ones you ,let get away with it think you are frightened of them when you are not,
That is how bullying starts at school and makes a life a misery for some Children, and it will carry with them after school if not put a stop to
When i was at School, i was very small fellow, not big now, but i was bullied by one fellow twice my size, this went on for over a year, life was not nice in side and outside of School
Then i said to myself one day stand and fight
the next day it started as soon as i got to school, then i said to the Bully and his Cronies i have had enough, i will see you after school outside the premises
i waited for him, and as he walked ourside sticking his face into mine saying to me, i am going to give you a hiding,
Next second he was on the ground i kneed him in the nether regions, that was it ,as he went to get up i hit him in the face, i think each time i hit him about four times in the face until he said enough, but he got another one for good measure afterwards
Never any more trouble for me at School
My next episode was when i was 18 years old, i was walking through an archway a fellow who lived opposite me hit me on the head for no reason with a rusting frying pan it went down to my shoulders cutting my neck badly 14 stiches in that encounter and me just minding my own business,
i never allowed anything ever to happen like that again to this present day
That has not happened now for over three quarters of my life, i stand up and be counted and so must the one who is at the other end

Stonehaus, "fluffed" not sure what you mean.......she got lots of treats, and let's just say i don't feel worried about any other dog bothering fluffy when her big sis spunk is with. i really don't like having wussy dogs, one reason i would never have chosen a poodle myself. my boyfriend and our daughter wanted a cute, friendly dog, and that is what they got. she's a cute friendly wuss, lol.

Steve, you got lucky. You can punt a jack if you need to. One of my clients was out walking their very soft 5 month old rott puppy and they got brutally attacked by 2 malamutes. They each had one end of him and were trying to disembowel him as he lay on his back screaming. The woman threw herself over her puppy and screamed for help until some neighbors spooked the dogs off, one of the dogs caught her hand and punctured right through her finger. 45 minutes earlier they had tried tearing a labrador in 2. They were picked up by the police later chasing deer, one ran back home and being tazed 2 times.
Now I recommend to my clients, if they are afraid any dogs in their neighborhood, to buy some muzzle spray and keep it on hand.
