BOTTOMLINE 3k or higher is bullshit. At most clubs you dont have to pay for helper work so cost for training i dont understand. And if you do that just means you cant train yourself.Really the foundation work from 10 wks to6 months is about the same.An I really dont want puppy on the sleeve.Just because he can bite it doesnt mean he should. Proven producer gets thrown around just like topsport.Sure the chances are higher to get a good dog, but mink, fero, tim, troll an even lord all have some bullshit out there. And the words TOPSPORT OR HIGHER LEVEL DONT MEAN NOTHING TO ME IF YOU'VE NEVER BEEN THERE YOURSELF.

Slade, You are Ray Jeffers brother correct maybe he can get you one. As far as throwing things out there proven producer can be said if it is true look at the dogs under any dog this is simple, titled or not. Zidane had two dogs in the top five the second round of selection for the WUSV this weekend. Sure all dogs do not produce 100 percent great dogs every time so what is your point? Top sport is what it is no amount of training or helper work makes a dog a top sport dog. Any dog will reach his potenial with a good helper true but the good helper cannot turn a medium dog in to a top sport dog. And yes many kennels over here have the record and have produced top sport dogs.I am not a trainer and have never said I was but I am a breeder with proven results. When you get the great dogs that age with all of the above criteria 3,000 is not unreasonable and the lower end of what you will pay. Most people who throw out you have never been there is dangerous unless you can back up your own merits. I have a dog in the ADWF this weekend it is top sport I am the breeder again let us know your background what are your training achievements and breeding merits.

I agree with Molly and Shelley on the price there, if the dog has been started in the 3 phases. As I've learned recently some will also charge way way more than that!

Marlene Why is your defense drive so high.I didnt say alabama k9 or zidane.Zidane is sure to be a better dog than I'll ever have. The reason his progency dont do anything is because look who you're selling them to.An Thor is a good dog but hes going to get loss in the toss if wallace doesnt do good with.Just the facts. You also said that "Any dog will reach his potenial with a good helper true but the good helper cannot turn a medium dog in to a top sport dog".Think about Merlin good dog but to my understanding he was a second round pick, just a dog some guy had in the back, but wallace trained him into a great dog.Yeah you're right I haven't done anything but I do know what I'm looking at an if i never title another dog I've still got you beat.Oh I'm sure Ray can find me a dog, remember he got Neo from you for me but he had a bad hip.

I just returned from Germany a couple of days ago and had a similar conversation with someone there. The price in Germany for such a prospect (if that dog would be available) would start at 2,500 to 3,000 Euros upward. That would include prelim. x-rays and foundation work (bitework, grips, not really obedience at that age). Shipping would be additional. With the current exchange rate (3000 Euros would be a bit more than 4,500 US-$) you are better off trying to find something here in the U.S. But if you want to, you could sign up at www.schaeferhund.net and place a wanted ad in the English language section. Then, just see what happens. The least you can expect is that all prospects are performance bred (all parents, grandparents etc. are titled - and breed-surveyed). I don't know about you, but it matters to me.

Fred, You never bought Neo from me number one, number two you purchased him from a couple in Flordia as a older dog. who sold him because he was too much drive for them as a pet. No money was sent to me so check yourself before throwing bogus stuff out there or produce proof a cancelled check etc. Then you keep him for a few years and call me for a cash refund saying this dog Neo from Tell Dalenberghutte age four has a bad hip (without proof) now take it mind you he was not purchased by you from ME. He is also on your brothers site doing bite work still this month, I wonder how this is since you said he was crippled?? I told you to get a OFA and as breeder of said dog and I would REPLACE your dog even tho you never purchased it from me but I needed a OFA report. By the way our contact says orginal owner so I thought this was more than fair. You said no I want to keep my dog .... no I dont want to get a OFA my vet said it did...again your word no proof from any vet nothing in writing to date ... You never sent anything no OFA nothing nor called again no wonder I have high defense drive scam artists make you this way.
When you start analogy on Wallace and what Merlin did or didnt do and what Thor will do or wont do you need to have done something yourself . Merlin was sold as a top sport dog so I am not sure who you get your information from. No one can take a dog without drives and make them a national level dog this is why people buy green dogs instead of puppies this is a true statement as it gets. Zidane progeny is doing very well Fred so again get your facts straight. As far as brother Ray Jeffers make sure you feed and care for the dog he gets for you seems to be some problems there.

Right Chris good point the Euro is what now exchange rate so 3,000 euros and shipping adds up quick not to mention shipping that I hear from fellow kennels is very high especially if they use the middle man for transport they charge in additon to the actual shipping charges they last one I got this is what happened the shipping was 1,048.00 for a 500 crate so add this in. Marlene Ididnt keep neo for a few years. When he was a little over two I had his hips looked at by a vet here who does hundreds of hips a year an he said that he will have problems later own.I never said that he was crippled. The reason he is own the site is I guess is to show some training an dogs we've sold.I sold him to a guy here for a pp dog an still train with him sometimes now for nothing.I also never asked for a cash refund. An what you offered me was more than fair as the breeder of neo.I just felt if I were going to pay to ship him,pay to ship a pup(which is a gamble) Im better off selling him myself. As far as wallace goes I think hes cool as shit.marlene you just need to chill out .Maybe we need to take feeding lessons from your husband cause last time I saw you you seem to be eatting REALLY GOOD.Also if you never play basketball how can you tell what a good shoe is.

although interesting, and childish, can we get back to the thread that was started!
all of this is very interesting to read and look at the different points and such. anyone thinking about importing should take into account the exchange rates, good point, shipping cost's is another good point.
all of this being said. what if she pay's 5k ish. for sake of argument. what are the odd's of said '' prospect'' working out to being a top-level dog?
trio'd what realisticly do you want out of the dog. are you looking to train and title said dog to compete at say national level, or train and title to '' see how far '' the 2 of you can go?
a better point raised before. start looking at results for the past 5,10,15 yrs. i have been. alot of the names are the same, not the dogs, the handler/trainers. atleast in europe they are. i'd venture to say, any of those winning trainer/handlers, could do better with a mediocre dog than any, of us with a top level prospect! and i do many any of us,with the exception of less than a handfull of people that post here!
so depending on your wants/needs. and true expectations, is it worth 5k+ for a dog with more potential than we know what to do with.
my last question is in your 1st post, you say sport/police? do you plan to use said dog as a dual purpose also or patrol dog?
sincerely kenny
