Hello once again Ined,

Just curious what part of the world you are from?

by Ullie'sMom on 12 March 2008 - 22:03

Hi Ined,

I try not to post here much, Too much Meaness for Me. But I will tell You a Wonderful Lady I met here. We have not met in person, But when I was in need of help, She was the ONLY one to offer. She is Honest, Stands By Her Dogs, and Convictions, And After April 17th When My Iris Has Her OFA Done, I WILL be contacting her for a Male Pup to Compliment Iri's Pedigree.

Here is her Sire link

Hello everyone, thanks for the fast replies.  I am not on the computer all day long so that is the reason for my "slow" response.  I live in San Diego, California.

Okay, first reply to "two moons."  I don't know what it means when you are called a "troll" on the internet, I don't know if you're insulting me.  I don't know any of you and I would never call anyone a name here.  Second, yes I just joined yesterday.  I joined in order to get information on the GSD, isn't that what this site/forum is about?  Although I haven't been a member, I have been reading the posts on this site for awhile.  I didn't think that joining and asking a question right away would be a bad thing.  I just wanted to get information from knowledgeable people about a future family member.

Second, I want to convey my appreciation to everyone who has replied.  Don't worry, I am taking everything with a grain of salt.  I like the idea of going to the dog parks here and asking people about their GSDs.  We want to make sure that our future family member will be coming from a healthy, ethical, and loving breeder/home.

Once again, thank you to everyone, I will be going to the dog park now to make some new friends.

Dude........

That is so coooool,

I live in Massachusetts,or should I say Taxachusetts!

Do you have earthquakes happening alot, so that they really don't bother you?

I am on the computer alot lately cause the weather is cold & crappy right now,
but in the summer, I won't be on the computer much at all,

OH!  I can't wait for some really warm weather here!

by Ined on 12 March 2008 - 23:03

Hi Mirasmom,

Okay, normally I don't respond to people here like I'm having a "real conversation" since I never stay on the computer long enough but I just had to reply to your comments.

It is a niiiiiice 71 degrees right now here.  No major earthquakes for awhile (knock on wood), you should really come out and visit.  The only thing is prices for everything are soooo high.  Gas price down the street is at $3.89, aaaah.....hope the warm weather comes soon enough for you.

Hi Ined,

1. Do your Homework.....

2. Do your Homework.....

3. Do your Homework.....

Dont jump on me, this is not meant offensive.

The way I suggest to go about buying your next GSD, is a time consuming and at times frustrating thing. First you should try to pin point what line you want to go into. Then you should shop around in your area if there are Pups that would fit your desire. Best would be, if you could visit and see for yourself. Check the breeder, try to find peopel that have a dog of that breeder, talk to them. Check the breeders dogs, titles,OFA.....Now comes the tricky part........ long distances, not beeing able to visit, limits your options to a great deal. Pics can be deceving, dogs can be misrepresented. But after all, at a certain point you will have to trust the breeder, that he describes your future dog as it is.

What I like to ad is, imo most breeders are honest and will stick to their word. It should be never forgotten, that talking to each other, the way grown ups should talk to each other, is the key word here. At the moment when the pi**ing contest starts, regardless which side starts it, the offended side will lower his/hers guard and mostly no goal can be achieved.

This is only a brief discription on how one should go about the purchase of a Pup, but all the work involved, should make you more eager & more happy to get your future companion. It should be a good experience for all involved. In generell, if you dont feel comfortible, with anything that goes with the deal, dont do it.

Regards Ulli

Thanks for getting back to me Ined,

when you do get a GSD, they absolutely love to jog beside your bycicle,
that's what I do with my dog Theo, I can go at a slow steady pace, or a
pick it up fast pace, but sometimes the weather is not nice for bike riding,

You are going to have a blast when you get your GSD!

My male is a Rabouke (sp?) from Kraftwerk grandson. They do have some nice dogs. I've been tempted a few times, but usually can't afford the price tag. Have to admit I still keep browsing their website.
