Did somebody look at itself the website of these people? There many different races are offered - export/import.... to that extent comprehensibly, which people need such photos.... It is obvious really as Kyle said: This is animal husbandry.

Well said Kyle.  This is an international forum, and displaying ties is a normal & accepted practice in many parts of the world.   Some of you really need to get over yourselves and stop being so judgemental of things that you don't understand.

... no wondering about other questions...

i agree, how uptight can you get?  having delt with other breeds and having seen thousands of pics like this you guys are the only ones i've ever heard anything negative from. it's natural, not porn and it has been done for countless years before we had NDA availability for dogs.

perhaps it's because many owners of studs that become famous as sport dogs or great producers come under scrutiny when their aging stud is still producing litters. then they have all the message board trolls out there either out of jealousy or just to start something saying the dogs been dead for years....

when importing a pup from over seas i like to see these pics, although DNA will be done. even when dealing with the best kennels out  ther it's always reasuring to see them lock up before you send your money.

...may be there are different traditons in different nationalities. For me this pic¿s means nothing, really nothing. I trust more the breeder of a kennel in person, the pedigree and the DNA-test. I have no problem with that it is natural, of course. guess a common misunderstanding...

Look, my issue with the picture has nothing to do with the dogs being tied. We all know how puppies are made. My issue is that it's such a piss-poor picture that you can't even TELL that they're tied, let alone be sure which two dogs they've photographed. When I first saw that picture, I had NO IDEA that was what they were showing. I just thought, "Gee, why the heck can't they take a better picture than THAT to show off their dogs?

If I'm buying a pup, I really don't CARE one way or another that you've got a picture to prove mating occurred. Unless the sire/dam is extremely well know, I probably won't know what he/she looks like anyway, even if it's a GOOD photo! Also, a lot of dogs, especially from the same lines, look so much alike that it would be easy to lie about the photo, and no one be the wiser. If I was the bitch's owner, I MIGHT want to see it, but as a buyer, I'd much, much rather see a good stacked photo of the sire and dam! And if I don't trust what you show on the pedigree, I'll have DNA samples taken!

So what's your point, if a breeder is going to publish a photo of a tied bitch & dog, they should make sure to have the two dogs stacked nicely for the photo? You don't really think anyone is trying to determine conformation of either dog from that photo, do you?  I can't believe anyone is criticizing a photo of tied dogs - you guys are a little kooky!

A nice, stacked photo of the sire and dam while tied? Sue, you crack me up!!

Actually, I thought about making a joke about that in my post, but decided not to...

Let me 'splain it more simply, Lucy.

1)You got a litter of pups you're selling. Obviously a mating took place.

2) Unless I know the sire and dam really well, you could post a picture of any two dogs of similar appearance that were tied together, and I probably wouldn't know. Especially if it's a really crappy photo, like that one, which judging by the camera flash reflection was taken through a window. Way to get a nice, clear picture, eh?.  But that's okay, if I don't trust you, there's always DNA

3) If I'm buying a pup from you what I REALLY want to see is the conformation of the parents. So, puleeez...give me a nice, stacked photo of the sire and dam...do I REALLY need to say this??....seperated!

Sunsilver I do not know you personally but you appear to be a novice at this GSD world.  This picture is acceptable, traditional and often requested.  Stacked pictures can be requested but are often found on adverts website or provided after first inquiry.  Your inability to identify dogs from photos speaks to your lack of education and lack of research.  The picture is but one part of the equation.  Its easy to find ownership of registered GSD's. But that would require you to do some research.  Education is King/Queen.  Open a book or do a google search.  Don't be afraid of what you might learn.

This kind of thing is very accepted amoung the Europeans - like Kyle said - it's animal husbandry.  While it might be a little weird and against the rules and social norms here in America - it is not so in Europe - and as the advertisements on this site are about 25% American - I imagine the other 75% might not freak out about the picture.

lol - it's really very normal for them to do that - I recieved a whole photo album of Ruby's Dam and Sire tying - another reason it might be done is because the FCI does not allow AI.

You really have to try and keep an open mind with the Europeans - and its not right to judge them by our standards because...well...its a different culture with different social norms that are not nearly as prudish as our own.  It used to shock the pants off of me when I went to Europe as a little girl to visit my Grandmother (In Italy...which has even looser social norms! O.o)  You get used to it after a while.  Just try to keep that in mind.
