So y'all wanted a happy thread, eh?

OK.  Here's "The Moose", "Viggo" or as of yet unnamed male...on the day he was born a couple of days ago...

Here's his sister....:)

Mom after a looong day...

Mom on a good day...

Her first litter. :)  Is that happy?

We're happy....

Rezkat- Yes, that's Jed, surrounded by the fresh mud he tracked through the living room when I could grab him in time to wipe his feet on his way in... The carpet cleaner is coming at 1pm. I just hope he doesn't turn right around and leave when he sees the state of my rugs.

Here's anothe "happy" pic, for me anyway, taken a couple days ago before the final exterior wall was framed. The roof trusses, 24 of them on 24" centers, custom made with risers for a 50' x 11.5' x 6'2" h storage area upstairs, reinforced with plywood 6' out  from center to edges for a 300+ strength factor, arrive Monday.  Attic storage load rated at 54 lbs. per sq. foot BEFORE the plywood counters-stressing factored in... plenty strong enough for storage freezers for a future raw food distributorship. The attic will have stairs for access, and also a barn-style door with a wench at the driveway end for moving heavy items. My husband is reserving a 10' x 11' space at one end for "his" stuff... but we'll see how much he actually ends up with. LOL

The framing is on 16" centers to provide for heavy insulation in walls, with blown insulation in the attice over the 8' ceiling. We're going with steel roof and siding. Dog doors (guilletine) have to wait till AFTER inspeciton... (this is, after all, a "garage" according to the permit) but will lead to large outdoor  runs after the ground thaws in spring. There are lots of dual-pane windows (that OPEN) for natural light and the heat & ventilation will be more than adequate. Once its complete enough to move the dogs in, we'll work on the finishing touches. I am (finally) impressed with my husband's skills as a builder. Up till now he has never built me so much as a bird house, but he's really out-done himself with this project, much better than I ever expected, and the prices he's gotten on materials (from providers wanting his mega-commericial builder employer's biz in future) are astounding! The whole 22' x 50' x 16h center structure will cost out at less than $10K! (excl. kitchen, HVAC, covered outdoor runs, hard- and landscaping)

The slab doesn't drain right, small puddle in the middle, but hubby swears he can fix that. Indoor whelping room and puppy kennel will be added off the far end, raised floor insulated, built on piers in unobstructed view of my kitchen window.

Won't be long now. Hubby is so finiscky he won't allow anyone to help with the framing, but he IS hiring a very good, currently laid off carpenter to install insullation and help with the trusses & roofing.

The best bitch who ever lived, Borina JM :)

First litter.

Not something to likely be a regular occurrence for a ton of reasons.

Pictures I absolutely love, sent to "Grandma Veronica" for Christmas.  This is the PAWS Fairbanks SAR group, the sable to the far right pic 1, and on Santa's lap pic 2 is "Uwe", one of my pups from Alexa.  His mom is a member of  PAWS, and a great person, Vikki H., Fairbanks, AK.

Angus Mom, that's a really pretty picture.  Those dogs look so happy.

Rozoan, I like your doggie scrooge picture, LOL.  What a hilarious expression.

There's a lot of good looking dogs on here!

Nice male, YR.  Is he all show lines, or some working lines?

Venzo's mom, that's an adorable picture.  Did you send it out on a Christmas card?  I wanted to do one like that, I got a Santa costume complete with little beard for Athos, and christmas atair for the gilrs, but I just kind of ran out of steam.

A fun day at the sand pit.  I know he shouldn't be jumping but he pulled this one off before I could stop him.  At least it's soft sand and water he's jumping onto.
