Has anyone tried contacting Ben Roethlisberger from the Pittsburgh Steelers? He has a big interest in police service dogs, and donates either a dog or their equipment to local PDs of the cities/locales he's playing in. Maybe his fund would take them over to give them to needy PDs! Site? http://www.br-7.com/foundation.aspx

There was a pice tonight on the News. It looks like they might be able to come to an agreement. LOL I guess you can see why the Police Chief might have a beef, two of the K9 units make more than he does in a year. http://www.wbay.com/Global/story.asp?S=7517603

Based on some of the replies here from people that called the police station, there was not plans to euthanize the dogs but worse case to sell them. Giving the handlers first chance at the dogs seemed like a nice thing to do. Selling the dogs to another department if the handlers did not want them makes sense.
