Echo, this whole situation is unbelievable. I wonder if your bank can do a fraud investigation. I had mine do that with a gym once. They did all the legwork. That was enough for our situation (non dog related) and I was told that if it were fraud they would turn it all over to the police.

Well, Echo: The she that cashed the money order will be using it to wipe off her reputation here shortly if you dont get your paperwork or a civil email or copy of papers shortly......another poster today from a man about the ever talked about TH, and that all scammers and frauds preyed upon any of us , need to be brought to the board , especially if you have proof.....send her a certified letter tomorrow........ask for copies and proof of the sale and the papers that should havae been in your hands by ___________________date above....if it returns unsigned takae it and all paperwork to DA and file charges ....you can find out the laws in your area and her aarea and get some help in how to word the letter....certify it and when all of this has been done ,,,if no result , then and only then , can you put the info on here......she has to have legal notice and time to respond...YR

It is so worth it to drive/fly up - see the dog- pay for the dog- papers in hand and then go home with the animal.
The aggravation and stress just is not worth dealing with. Sorry this happened to you Echo, but I am surprised you got roped into this after so many horror stories on this board.
best of luck to ya though. I am sure it will work out ok eventually.

Yellowrose, My Attorney is already on it !!
Your right it is absolutely worth it, to get the dog in person !!
Which is WHY I have looked for a year for dogs in the Northwest, so I could drive there meet face to face, hand over cash and collect dog and all paperwork... But nothing ever came up that I fell head over heels for, so I did something stupid, hopefully have learned from it !! we'll see what happens..... STILL Waiting on the papers....

Good deall He will tell you I am right You have to send certified letter before you disclose anything here, after she either refuses to sign it, and you get it back file the charges and then you can put all the facts only , on the forum.....facts are not slander.......you cannot call a name or make a judgement in words you just state this person did this and I have filed charges and then state all the facts....that is not slander ........Good luck we will wait with bated breath post as soon as you get papers or a reply from the person.......

I have the same problem. Ive had my dog for almost 3 years now. First it was a whole mess over who the dog belonged to and then there was a court date. Settled out of court. Been a year since we signed the agreement that the papers would be sent. I got an attorney since this individual is in the same state as me. There was no response to the first letter he sent. Ill call him Monday and have him hold off filing a suit until we send a certified letter. If I have to wait for a court date before getting them, Ill go public on every forum I can. Enough is enough. Good luck EchoMeadows.
