That could be, but what about the claim that Evi is an OFA excellent when she can not be found on the OFA website?

by yellowrose of Texas on 09 October 2007 - 05:10
How long has it been like that dont breeders check their ads to see whats on it ,,,,I check mine everyday and when I find a mistake , I make the call....yes a webmaster can make a mistake
Dont get all upset.....I took the priviledge and email them three hours ago......Puputz so they have been made aware of it...
Tues . Blitzen made a person in another ad lilmegshepherds aware that her listings of OFA are not true....ofa doesnt omit ofa listings ...you cant get your certificate if it isnt generated by the system they are all double checked thru....its akc that doesnt list things......use to you had to let akc know,,,now i understand OFA notifies akc and when you breed or make the next entry on your dog , the ofa shows up. We will watch this and see if they make a new entry and change it....
bjarnehaus: do yu have a copier?? make a copy of the thread and the website , just for your own knowledge so you can check yourself...my ink is out or Id make a copy to just refer to....for further reference......

bjarniehaus: Today is Tuesday and I just checked the website you posted and the same showline dog is still listed as the
proud parents are: and it is the show line dog with the name of the pedigree picture of a work line dog....
Guess the havent read the email I sent advising them of the questionable posting of two dogs with same name and different pics and the ofa question....

My web designer pulled the wrong pic off the database for the sire. It will be fixed tomorrow.
The blues were a result of the 4,4,5 line breeding on Marko z. Poluxu (West German Show/Work Dog). I'm neither proud nor concerned that I produced blues, but at least I'm honest about it.
I have every one of my dogs hip xrays. Evi does have excellent hips, rated by my vet who is 100% accurate with what the OFA will come back as. I'm waiting for certifications for those who think I'm being deceitful, I'm one of the most honest people in this business. After all, I show that I have blues!
BTW, I was told by a seasoned breeder that blue is NOT A DILUTION OF BLACK, but a completely separate recessive gene. All their points were black. Nose and pads.
Thankfully, someone emailed me to notify me of the mistake on my web site and the fact that there is a whole string about me on these postings.
You guys need to chill!

This database is also a little screwed up. Under Aden it doesn't show a hip rating and he PennHipped excellent with a .27 laxity. Evi's pedigree is wrong up there too. It picked up the wrong Nico! And, I couldn't get Dona's sire, Grim z Pohranicni Straze to show as her sire! Evi is a Grim z. Pohranicni grand daughter through Dona og Agnesky, SVV1. Her sire is Nico von der Graf.
I'll try to get through to someone on the database and have all that info changed.

Madelyn : You can make the change yourself , if your dog is apart of the pedigree..No one will fault you for that.....correct info is better done than let it stay wrong....you can just click update info or update photo and follow the directions.

Madelyn,
Now you know what needs to be updated. The puppy pictures were changed pretty fast from your puppy page, within 1 hour of this thread being posted, so it has taken a lot longer to correct the error in that male? I think a lot of us do agree that blue is a dilute of black. I do not think that it is an entirely separate gene from all of the reasearch that I have done. If I ever produced any blues, I would hold papers on all of them until I had proof from a licensed vet that they were spayed and neutered, so no one else could breed it in to a bloodline. I fully commend you for trusting your vet on what x-rays look like, but it does look a bit deceitful when a dog is listed as OFA excellent before the final OFA's have come back on the dog yet. My one boy did look like he had excellent hips when I had him done. I did not post anything making people think that the OFA rated him as excellent. He came back OFA good, 2 vets rated him good and 1 rated him excellent. I spoke to the OFA after I got the ratings back. I did not post his hip ratings until after I got them back from OFA. You can update the information on your dog on the database. Just click update.

Blue IS a dilution of black...at the Dilution Locus a dog that can produce black pigment is either Dd or DD - its a completley dominant allele. However a dog that has two copies of the 'd' allele will be blue, and blue is unable to produce any kind of black pigment, not in the fur, the skin, or the leather...the pigment can be a very dark blue, but it is still not black.
Willis in his section on color shows a plate of a 'silver' GSD puppy, and he didnt know what caused that, but as a puppy the pups looked bluish silver, and as they got olde the pigment darkened to black...they still had black pigment on their leather though.
A blue wont have any of that black pigment, and while the blue can darken to look almost black, if you stand a blue pigmented dog up against a black pigmented dog and take a picture of their noses side by side you will be able to tell the difference.

I need help! I can't change the OFA rating. I think I changed her pedigree, but I still cannot get Grim z Pohranicni Straze as Dona og Agnesky's sire. There are 3 different entries on Grim. I've tried all three.
How do I change the ofa and get Grim in as Evi's grandsire?
Thanks,
Madelyn
