oo..goodness ...so many to answer.....so first off i wanna thank all of you for offering your help....great advice....got boss out of his kennel this morning and he was running around playing...seems fine to me...think his pooing was fine to, i believe he was a little constapaited in the first place so it prob helped..........I was soo worried about him last night, my hubby kept telling me not to about the dog, to tend to my tooth..sit and rest- dont get up.....

yesteryday, i was home alone when it started hurting, within mins i will admit--i was on the floor pratically screaming...i couldnt even move- was covered in sweat...it was bad...a few mins later (thank god) my kids got of the school bus, when they came in, my 14 yr old couison came in with them....she imedetly went to get her mom- and tooth meds......and my 7 yr old son, bless his heart, walked in the door, saw his mom laying there hurting and he didnt say a word...turned around a walked out the door...found out later that he ran straight next door to his maw-maws and called my hubby, told him to come home mommys hurt.....Good job for him, he knew just what to do.......well, my couison and aunt got there, got some meds on it, gave me a ice pack, but i was still laying on the floor.....boss the whole time(they were saying) was pacing and staring, he kept coming and pawing me, whining...he was obviously worried and confused, i was kinda out of it but i heard someone say, ok...go put the dog up before he hurts her...wanted to say leave him..but i couldnt talk or move...was in and out...heard someone say- boss ate a half a bar of soap...kinda passed out some from the meds (650mg of LORCET and still hurting!) ......thoughts kinda cleared up a little while later...i kept mumbling...wheres my dog is he OK?....(wasnt sure he had actually got put in the kennel or let loose in the commotion)....hubby said he's fine hes in the kennel...told hubby about the soap, he went to cheak on boss again, said he was fine....poor guy- gotta hand it to him...took care of me, kept checking on boss to make me feel better, meanwhile getting the kids homework done-baths-cooked them supper.....ohhhh it was a long night.......yall, getting on last night and answering me so quickly sure helped me relax and try to get some sleep....sorry i couldnt stay on longer last night to get everyones answers then but i was really dizzy and neausuas(spell?)...couldnt sit up in the chair..lol...

cant believe all the things yall's dogs have ate! geezs, and here i was freaking out about soap!....lol

but to answer rezkat...yes my tooth is still hurting, but not near as bad a yesterday..i'll be OK tho...called the dentist and they cant see me untill TUES. that really sucks, not only because thats 5 days away but also i am suppose to start that new job then, (for those of you that know about that-the one working with horses)....now im gonna have to wait longer....but there is a walk-in clinic, its futher away, more expensive, but i might just end up going there......

but all you you that answered....please give yourself a big pat on the back!...you reall helped me out...thank you...

and sorry if my tying or wording is confusing, still loopy from meds....

The dentist can't see you til Tuesday? Get a new dentist, one that can see you today, or go to the ER. Refusing to see you immediately is malpractice. An abcessed tooth is nothing to mess with.

blitz.....yup, thats what i was thinking.....my hubby is goanna try to leave work early and were prob gonna go to that walk-in-clinic....if they can't help me then Im heading straight to the ER...they wont pull a tooth but atleast they will give antibotics, and something for the pain..

Good luck. Glad you aren't waiting that long, it could be disasterous. Frankly, after you get  treated, I'd contact the local medical/dental association and report this dentist for not seeing you immediately, Many doctors and dentists do not monitor their receptionists actions, so may not be aware that you were refused treatment in a medical emergency. However, the doctor is ultimately responsible for the conduct of his or her employess.  Some vet's receptionists do the same thing if they want to get out of work in time. Happens all the time, don't let them get away with it.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I ate plenty of soap as a child.. couresy of my parents when I repeated a word or term they didn't approve of. Never hurt me, probably won't hurt the dog either.

At least he won't swear in front of company for awhile.

I just think of that movie "A Christmas Story"  where he had to eat the soap for saying "FUDGE,"  but it wasn't that!  Then when his mom asked him where he heard that word from, he said his friend so and so.  So then she called his mom, and you could hear the child getting a whooping over the phone.  Good good movie!

I didn't see this listed for the tooth problem.  TeaTree Oil, get a really good grade, not the cheap stuff.  Take a q-tip and swab the gum with TTO every couple of hours.  Word of Warning,  I am not sure that there are many things that taste as bad as TTO.  But TeaTree oil is antibacterial, anti-fungal, soothing and pentrating.

So glad to hear you're feeling better.  Don't stop the antibiotics, that's what will help, possibly even more than the pain meds.  Keep taking both until you see a dentist.  Don't mess with an absessed tooth, they can be more dangerous than most people think.  Gotta get the infection out of there!!  Glad to hear Boss is okay too.
