i have owned them since 1982 and mine also where very healthy,no ear problem,OFA ,VWB AND EYES clear,my oldest girl died at 16 years old .My cockers where bred to hunt birds they where not show cockers.  i started with a blk and then i had 7 buffs they all died of old age11-16 years old. now i have 2 blk/tans and 4 sables all fixed i don't know how you feel about sables but i think they are beautiful and boy can they hunt.my red sable boy father was all partie color and this mother was all choc.my 2 blk sables father was a sable mother blk/tan.

So is you dislike sables cockers iam sooooooooooooo sorry but i love them.

No I havae a sable "Aria  "  I said there was a big mess back when Aria was born , in the show world.....akc breeder in California started a big crappy mess, said she traced the lineage of the sables back to a dashhund ......I almost had a cow......how stupid......so after 4 years of bickering among the now it all of AKC and the American Cocker clubs...associations and all , they banned the sables from the show ring...

Aria is having surgery in the morning,,,,my only problem Ive ever had and she is 10,,,she has a mammalary tumor that has gotten quite large....has to go.....her mom ,Duchess carried one till she couldnt walk,   vet wouldnt remove it because she was 13 when It came up  and it got huge....This one is getting big,,so off its comming....shes a war horse so, Im not afraid,,,,,if by chance something does go wrong, she cant live dragging a big tumor around.....

I Have my new red/white parti,  Timbo the dad,out of Dodger, blk/white, his son Bunco a tri,blk./wht, and Aria, a red white sable...her ears are sable, and when shaved her red spots have grey highlighted around them....

I dont like the Roans  or the blues,,,,,, I had a choc and White tri, twice and sold both of them   ,,,,,,I got carried away and thought I had to have them..and had 8 germans , so I had my hands full....my friends in Tyler with the Historical Tour home have two of mine....so they can afford them and I still get to see her....

What is the problem with this man, he's breeding his one testicales male. No he cannot do this, but if he ensures that he is going to neuter his dog then its allright.

hard way to learn...but, you really need to research, research, research before attempting breeding.  There is so much to be learned here.  At least you have this forum available to you.  I would now use it to learn everything you possibly need to know before attempting to breed again.  There are so many people here with really good dogs who still do not breed due to the complicatedness of it not to mention how hard it truly is to get the "perfect pair" deemed breed-worthy enough to further improve (at the very least, not to hurt) the gsd breed. 

You will receive many tongue lashings no doubt as this truly upsets those who hold these dogs in such high esteem.  Health and temperament must be of the highest possible to ensure the progeny will pass this on also.  Workability and confirmation must also be of high standards.  Otherwise, all you have are more dogs taking up a spot in the local shelter or worse.

Good luck to you with placing any puppies that may come from this breeding.  I hope you are very honest with the future owners so they know how important it is to have these dogs neutered.

Ask questions here.  You will learn a lot.

yellowrose of texas, I hope all go's well with your girl's sx.It is really to bad that they won't let the sables show in akc.you can show them in canada.Banjo my first sable his father predgree where all parti color.red/wht or blk/wht his mothe's predgee where all choc ,choc/ tan and he was the only sable out of the litter. the breeder didn't even know want color he was but i did.I can't seem to pasta pictures of them in coat so is my website just go to other dogs and all my cockers are there even the ones that have past on .I also went alittle crazy with 6  cockers  and 15 GSD but i couldn't part with anyone of  them.                             http://vomhausvianden.tripod.com
