From now on I have decided I do not like being referred to as white. I think we should start a movement and all "white" people should INSIST on being called CREAMIES. Who's with me? After all, if other races can decide what they want to be referred to as, why can't "white" people?????????

I'm with you policemom. I think you should insist on being call a "Creamie American". Make sure "Creamie" comes BEFORE American, you wouldn't want anyone to think being American was important. LOL
I refuse to wear baggy ass pants and call woman Ho's though.

Instead of worrying about the race of people who do these heinous acts to animals, shouldn't we really be more concerned about revamping the legal system that allows this sort of behavior to go basically unpunished? Vick's backers think - so what, they are only dogs and were Vick's property to do with as he pleased. Not sure what sort of excuses could be made for this woman, but I'm sure there will be some who think she should be forgiven, rehabbed and integrated into the general population after she serves her sentence. I overheard a conversation in a local resturant a few days ago. One of the area's finest was asking his drinking buddy if he ever saw a really good dog fight ....."they are awsome..... just love to watch them". Both he and his companions were white albeit in need of a good bath. We have known for years that there is dog fighting happening in the southern area of Pa and northern MD in basically white communities. I recently read that the Baltimore police force is planning to crack down on the "sport". Where have they been for the last 25 years? They were informed, but they just didn't care until Vick brought it to media attention and now the public is demanding action. Duh........
People who abuse animals without any remorse are sociopaths. Most shrinks believe they are not capable of being rehabbed. The bad seeds of the world who will continue status quo. Personally I think killing animals for sport - not talking hunting for meat here - should be a capitol crime punishable by incarceration for 25 to life, no parole. Daumer has been linked to this topic a number of times on this board. Who could say Vick and this woman are not capable of similar actions. Forgive them and those like them? Not me. I want them behind bars for more than a few days.

Well said Blitzen !!

Absolutely Blitzen & EchoMeadows - we should all strive to end the horrendous treatment animals received from abusive people thru all avenues available. From legal action, arrests and community involvement, to personal action and awareness. Cruelty is a trait that crosses all boundaries in life and should be not taken lightly but punished strongly before they take it to the next level.
To everyone else, I like policemom's point that would be an excellent way to finally put to rest a decades old point of combustion regarding the argument of how we refer to our skin tones. Just let everyone know how you would like to be referred to and all who see it will agree to do so.
I don't care what I am called as long as I am called. Life's too short to care much about what someone else thinks about me. I was once told that if I really knew how much time others spent thinking about me I would be crushed to know that they are too busy worrying about what others thought of them to spend much time thinking of me at all.
Life can be great fun when we free ourselves of thinking everyone is personally aiming insults at us - most times people are truly trying to get it right and not insult anyone - but that's just not possible. If we all called each other's originating racial backgrounds by numbers instead of colors (which by now are completely mixed and swirled together) we would think someone was being superior because they are referred to by number 1 race or lower by number 8. We are all God's children, loved equally and should be proud to be whatever color he chose to bless us with!

Not many in the US are "pure" anything. Why do we even care what our heritage is or that of our neighbors? Nowadays people lie or don't know who dad was. It's like Holland dogs, could be anything back behind you. Momma could have oops littered, with the wrong stud and grandma and grandpa covered it up. You could be walking around all your life, with the wrong pedigree. Black, white, brown and any shades in between. If you live in the US and are a citizen, your an American, not African American or Mexican American. At how many generations do you let that one go?
You can just call me Native European American then. However much sense that makes!
Call me a "creamy" and I'd have to say I am more cocoa than cream, little reddish tinge from the NA blood in me. See me in the dead of winter, I'd pass for a white girl, but if I have enough weekends in the sun, you'd scratch your head.
Creamy sounds rather yummy right now, I could go for some icecream.
by clewsk9s on 24 August 2007 - 20:08
There we go! - you can only call yourself by the names of ice creams! I'd like to be called Vanilla Fudge
