Shelley Strohl

by Shelley Strohl on 01 August 2007 - 17:08

I am an old, dysplastic show bitch with terrible nerves, stress incontinence, and no ball drive whatsoever. I am a picky eater, little food drive, and have been known to bite people in the ass when they weren't looking. I have waffled between handler sensitivity and handler aggression from birth.  I am terrified of thunder storms, hate the 4th of July fireworks!  My dog has to steady me for the gunfire test in the off leash heeling exercise. They are embarrassed when I scream in panic.  I can be chased under the furniture by popping a paper bag.

Not to worry, I have never produced progeny, willing to stand for breeding, but failing to produce throughout what might have been my productive years. Just as well. I come from a long line of bitches who either eat their young or lose interest in them shortly after delivery.

Understandably, I avoid these characteristics when selecting DOGS for my breeding program. Oddly, when it comes to raising animals, I am the most caring, attentive, loving, protective, nurturing bitch on the face of the earth.

Guess I was just born into the wrong species.

Oh, forgot one thing, the positive things:

I have been described as having had excellent conformation in younger years, voted "Best ASS in Schutzhund" at the Raiser seminar at South County Schutzhund club in my mid forties. (see below)  Like most worthless, infertile bitches, I enjoy very good overall health and will probably take up space in the kennel for many years, unless I run out in front of a truck fleeing from something or somebody making loud noises.

I can/do still wear those shorts, especially when I have to ask some old farmer for permission to track on his field, or have been offered bonus money for getting a higher-than-expected show rating on an ugly dog.

ROTFLMAO

LOL, here it goes!!!!!!!!!!

Red and black long coated alpha female, very aggressive.  Dislike for small children so temperament sucks!  Very loyal to my owner, non trusting of strangers.  Very athletic, spayed female.  Obedience or agility a must!  Great conformation with not too much angulation.  Strong nerves under any circumstances.  Wow, when can I become a GSD? LOL

jletcher/john,

You have the VIDEO???!!! With my precious, departed ONYX working?!

I WANT IT!  Been trying to find someone who has the video of those works for years! Its been so long I don't even remember what year it was...

PLEASE!

My video camera was in the shop for that seminar. I only have few pix from that weekend, luckily none of myself dancing and carousing at night. Unfotunately, like most of the pix I have of myself, they are almost all from the rear.

How much? Where do I send it?

:))))))

Hmmmm. My husband, on the other hand, could clearly never be a GSD. More like a pitbull, with a large vial of nitroglycerin percariously suspended from his collar.

High SG conformation, strong, sound structure, excellent health, pronounced liver function. Prefers to live outside regardless of the weather. Buries tools for the future. Gun-sure. Extremely dominant/aggressive externally, but not pack leader material due to poorly developed social skills. Must be anesthetized for socialization/exposure to new places, people, situations.  Enthusiastic breeder, but reported results sketchy, (produce records incomplete). Identified progeny inconsistent in type/temperament, running from V/SchH3/KK1 to G/Mangelhof/Unsurveyed, depending on mother line, the greater success demonstrated by unregistered progeny.
Approach with caution 10-15 min. following administration of tranquilizer dart.

Tall, red sable female with dark eyes, 100% Hungarian working lines, energetic, drivey, but a little nervy and definitely sharp.  Can be handler aggressive but still willing to please.  Dominant and stubborn, definately not for a pet home or first-time bitch owner.  Responds well to praise and play.  Needs lots of exercise and mental stimulation.  Will NOT fetch anyone's slippers.  Powerful grip when settled on the sleeve, but can be a bit chewy.  TSB pronounced, but hardly ever outs clean.  High aggression for a female, bites like a male.  Can bond closely with the right handler.  Intact but never produced a litter despite numerous breedings.  Not good with kids and probably would not make a good mother to a litter of pups.  Oddly enough, affectionate with cats and enjoys curling up with snakes.
